March 28, 200917 yr WAVE 3 sports guy is apparently in the know with Barnhart and they were told this is exactly how it was suppose to play out and Donovan will be the coach. With Grant taking the Alabama job today, ... I don't see this happening. If UF really thought there was any chance of Donovan taking the UK job, I think Foley would have begged Grant to just take a few more days to think it over. However, Bama did want an answer today, and they have to be THRILLED with the answer they got. Alabama got a big up and comer in Grant.

Donovan didn't totally dismiss the Kentucky job in his statement, and until Grant signs a contract with Alabama, there is nothing that legally keeps him from spurning the Tide for Florida if Donovan decides to leave. At the same time, I still think Donovan stays in Gainesville. I don't think he wants his family to be in the Kentucky fishbowl.
March 28, 200917 yr I think that they were ready to announce him as the coach at 430 today then something came up with the terms in the contract so they couldnt, and Billy is just saying what he has to say as a coach at a rival school. I know everyone has heard something, but I heard something convincing today from someone up there that said not to count out Billy D. just yet.
March 28, 200917 yr I wouldn't count him out simply because I don't believe anything a major college coach says when it involves staying or taking a new job. They all say the same thing...sometimes it turns out to be true, sometimes they take the other job. Billy D is no different.

It's done out of respect if you want to speak with the coach. I'm sure his agent has been contacted already, if Donovan himself hasn't.

March 28, 200917 yr I hope it's Donovan. He would be the best person, IMO. At least he has proven that he can recruit, coach, AND win the big one.
