For Beechwood fans who may complain about the tough district, with this win you will see a nice side effect. Regardless of what happens Friday (against Holmes we'll assume), you will not have to face Holmes again unless you are in the regional championship. Furthermore, Boone Co. could draw into the same side as Holmes and the chances of Beechwood going to the Sweet Sixteen go up significantly. Of course, all the games in the regional are tough but it is nice knowing you may not face the top 2 teams in the region till the championship game.

I think the Beechwood fans are aware of this. They have been a very fast learn on a very foreign subject. Thanks for your support VOR.

Note: I'm sure I'm in the minority on this board when I say I don't mind trash talking/talking one bit. I have no problem with it.

AJ Smith may give Pittman a run for his money when it comes to yapping.

I'm a pretty big fan of the trash talking honestly. I think Pittman is hilarious when he talks, and I did notice Smith barking a little bit as well last night. Adds to the emotion of the game IMO.

Saw Isler laughing a bit at the talk. I think it's all part of the game as long as it doesn't get to a certain level where it takes away from the players overall game. At times Pittman lets that happen. But I think he has gotten some control over that.

This was a good game and a good win for Beechwood. CovCath self destructed and Beechwood took advantage of that. Advice for next years team, when youre up by 9, don't take 3's...I mean I thought that might have been obvious but yet we still jacked them up...and missed. lol. Beechwood's Beautell [sp] was lights out, really great.

Romes def. has hops, and it, as someone said, was not a show off extraordinary dunk, just a plain dunk that sent the message that he can do it.

Good luck against holmes on Friday if Holmes wins tonight. I'd love for you all to win..:thumb:

There is always a chant like this at any game. Funny but not clever to say the least.

If was expected why didnt cov cath have a cheer back?

Great atmosphere for a high school game last night. Beechwood showed a tremendous amount of poise for a school who has not played a lot of games in that type of atmosphere. Maile for Covington Catholic is a great athlete, he made some amazing plays. Romes guarded him very well, there was not much else he could have done to stop Maile. Maile did a great job of creating shots. Beuttel for Beechwood was being completely face guarded but still managed to get open for some big shots. Great win for the Beechies!

I still say the step back 3 was the biggest play in the game. It showed the team that they could sustain the comback, and from there the confidence was off the charts. Just a big time money shot...

I completely agree, I thought the Tigers might struggle with the pressure and the crowd. Shumate really seemed to have them prepared to play.

You seem to be really interested in cheering sections and cheers. Were you up there by any chance?

When Beechwood cut it down to 3 CovCath called a time out and absolutely folded. I still have to give all the credit in the world to their clutch shooting. Without it I'm not so sure CovCath wouldn't have won that game by 10-15 points. BHS was just ON in the 2nd half.

Not interested at all, Cov Cath just claims theirs to be the best.

Actually, you'll find that CovCath fans hardly claim that....it is often other schools' fans. It doesn't matter, the student section was a large disappointment this year.

It really sucks to see Maile and Shover go, as well as the other CovCath seniors.
