Qryche11 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Final. Anybody have details. This is a huge feather in the cap for the Birds heading into the Districts.
AirYardGo Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 This was a big win for Highlands. They seemed to really step it up tonight. The officials were letting some stuff go on both ends. Overall, a very good win for Highlands.
StraightShooter Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Sounds like a good game between the #3 teams in regions 9 and 10. The good guys won this time!!!!! Congrats to the Birds.
4pointplay Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Highlands played well. Very physical and Highlands knocked down their free throws. Lother had a nice game scoring the basketball and knocked down some big shots. Highlight of the night was listening to Coachs Carr and Schlarman at opposite ends of the scoring table during the game discussing just how bad the officials were. Hate to say it but 10th region officials are so much better than the 9th on a consistent basis. How does a game with two pretty good teams end up with 2 guys who neither one would make anybodies top 10 list in the 9th?
Qryche11 Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Wow, Lother leads the birds with 19. Grote held to 2 pts is strange. Scott 11 12 20 20 63 Highlands 15 12 15 28 70 Scott (19-8) -- Smith 12, Murray 26, Niederegger 7, Gligorevic 8, Wilson 4. Highlands (19-6) -- Lother 19, Gordon 3, Kowolonek 14, Smith-Keller 4, Watson 12, Dill 7, Grote 2, Grubbs 9.
Qryche11 Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Eagles were up by 1 going into the 4th. And lost. Congrats Birds.
Theoldman12 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 The changing point of the game was the technical foul on Carr. It ended up going from a 5 point game to a 9 point game and shifted all of the momentum. I'm sure the reasoning was sufficient, but just bad timing.
stinkyboy II Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Eagles were up by 1 going into the 4th. Eagles open the 4th with a couple of misses and allowed HHS a 2nd chance basket that had Coach Carr extremely upset with his guys. He "screamed" for a timeout twice and didn't get the officals attention. The 3rd time he screamed right at the official as he approached. He let his displeasure with his team get the best of him and it turned into a technical foul. HHS converted and the lead quickly ballooned to 10. Except for that 2 minute span the game was very even.
ballerm Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I have never been impressed with the 9th region officials.

Tiger1 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I have never been impressed with the 9th region officials. I think most people would be able to say the same thing.
Plato Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 No O'Conner for Scott in the scoring column - anyone have info? Did he play?
