Boone County 45 Holmes 38

Featured Replies

Holmes season could hinge on the Pittman injury. You just don't lose a player of that caliber and not be affected. Let's hope its just a sprain and he'll be fine in a couple of weeks.

How much of a difference does the loss of coach Sullivan make? I think they may been out-coached last night and even in the Connor game (although Connor lost). Didn't see the Scott OT game, so I can't comment on that.

One thing I don't understand is why Holmes allows teams to play so slow against them. Maybe some of the Holmes fans can explain this. They have the athletes to really get after people and press and do some things. I thought they even played way too slow last year in the state championship game vs. Mason Co.

Also, I sure hope Pittman isn't hurt seriously. Hes having an excellent season and itd be a shame for it to either be cut short or for him to even miss 2 or 3 weeks.

You mean Boone wasn't in BGP top 20 and beat Holmes????? How can that be!

We said Elliott had a bad day and didnt shoot well from perimeter when thay lost to Shelby Valley and that was no excuse!! But tonight not hitting free throws and having a bad night is supposed to be for Holme's?????:rolleyes::rolleyes: Elliott dropped 5 spots losing to the BGP # 7 team by three, wonder what Holmes will drop losing to an unranked team by

7!!! :scared::eek::clap:

Go! Boone!!!!!!!!!!:taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz:

I can't blame Dale for seizing the opportunity to join the "Holmes lost" party. And he needs to jump in now because there haven't been many losses the last couple of years. But Boone is a very good team. This is not as big an upset as people outside N. Ky. may believe. I was surprised to see some posts saying Boone isn't in the top 20 because they have been in the top 20 most of the season. Boone has been the solid choice as the #2 team in N. Ky. all season. No shame in Holmes losing to Boone at Boone and it isn't that big of an upset.

Congrats to Boone on the victory. I didn't think it could happen, but it did.

I do look forward to seeing how Holmes responds in the regional tourney.

I still think they are favorites to win the 9th.

According to the NKY Post blog Pittman's wrist injury could be pretty serious. Coach Henley was quoted by the reporter as saying that it does'nt look good at this point. Let's wait and see but man what a loss for Holmes if it is serious and takes Pittman out for an extended time. Hope for this kids sake its just a sprain and he'll be 100% by district tourny time.

He left the game, got some tape on it, came back and knocked down a three in a matter of 3 minutes. He played on and off through the course of the game after the play that he landed on it. Hopefully that says he will be ok. If it is bad that could be a major blow.

Holmes was 4/13 from the line.

Only 3 free throws attempts after the 1st quarter?

With athletes like Holmes has wasn't there even an attempt to take it to the goal?

Yes. Pittman, R. Johnson, and Riley all tried at least a few times, but everything was contested. Boone played good D.

It's kinda hard for 5 guys to drive against 8.

Make it stop...

Its scary how our brains work in such a similar fashion. Scary, I say.

LMB - while the score would indicate a "slow down" game it was not. Boone is not a great team offensively and Holmes played strong D against them. Boone missed a lot of shots at or near the rim due to having to adjust for Holmes ability to block shots. Boone didn't slow it down - they just missed shots.

As I said earlier you can't press very well or often if you don't make shots.
