Boone County 45 Holmes 38

Agree with everything, although I feel like Highlands is pushing it. An argument can be made for Boone, but not Highlands. They are a solid 9th region team in a weak 9th region. They aren't top 15.

Who has a strong region besides the 7th and 11th? I wouldn't say the ninth is weak "balanced" might be a better word. Make your argument and match them up against the other 15 regions...

Why not Highlands??? They beat Boone head to head. :taz:

Like it or not they'll be better than Boone next year. You'll replace McFarland and Brown??? Highlands certainly won't be rebuilding they'll be re-loading returning their top 8.

No disrespect to Boone they have a nice team. Just wondering about your comment about: "An argument can be made for Boone, but not Highlands." :idunno:

Rankings = :puke: Don't mean jack!!! just good for chatter...

Thats the beauty of competition you'd better Bring It everytime you take the court. :ylsuper:

What does next year have to do with this year's rankings?

Holmes season could hinge on the Pittman injury. You just don't lose a player of that caliber and not be affected. Let's hope its just a sprain and he'll be fine in a couple of weeks.

Also, I sure hope Pittman isn't hurt seriously. Hes having an excellent season and itd be a shame for it to either be cut short or for him to even miss 2 or 3 weeks.

He left the game, got some tape on it, came back and knocked down a three in a matter of 3 minutes. He played on and off through the course of the game after the play that he landed on it. Hopefully that says he will be ok. If it is bad that could be a major blow.

Just got word that Elijah wasn't at practice today. I've heard it's not broken but is still painful for him and he'll see a doctor tomorrow to get a final word as to what type of precautions to take and also get a diagnosis of the severity of his injury....

I personally wouldn't expect to see him again until districts, but depends on what the doc says tomorrow..

Hey Eta Rho. Might give you a chuckle if you did not see it go back and look at post#191. Everyone was shooting so many post at you Mon. I did not know if you saw it or not.:D

Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.

If he needs time to heal, let it heal now when the games aren't as important as they will be in a couple of weeks.

I've followed closely...don't worry. I just choose not to respond to posts that IMO were obviously not thought out well before being posted. No need to reply.

I agree....It's more important for him to get healthy and be ready when the games actually matter.

Hope an Pray'in thats he's allright. I would hate to see a talent like that  go down. In Bluebird land we wish him a speedy recovery.

Here's why we want Holmes to be at their best. Think about competition - Competitors should want their opponents to be at their peak so they can present the best possible challenges.

To illustrate this point 2001 British Open Champion David Duval expresses how a good competitor should view opponents when he discussess the possibility of contending against Tiger Woods:

"One of the great things about golf is that you don't have to have any ill-will in this game. If I come head-to-head against him at say, the U.S. Open, I want him to be playing as good as he can play because I want to beat him when he's playing his best... It would be a heck of a lot better, if you know he have you all he's got, and you beat him."

They're alot of people not showing much RESPECT to the Dogs. But they are for real just look at their body of work this year. Every team has their weaknesses as well as their strengths and when they're hitting on all 8 cylinders they're hard to beat.

Congratulations to BOTH teams for creating a lot of EXCITEMENT!!!

How much of a difference does the loss of coach Sullivan make? I think they may been out-coached last night and even in the Connor game (although Connor lost). Didn't see the Scott OT game, so I can't comment on that.

You talk to Sully and he will tell you that coach Henley is an excellent coach but if he has a weakness it's that at times he won't reign his players in like maybe he should. IMO he will have a few surprises for teams come tournament time. You don't want to show everything in your bag of tricks too early.

Chappie is also a very fine ref. Really gets into the game with his calls and is very entertaining, while effective.

I disagree. Charlie Chappie has been one of the worst referees in the 9th region for years. He's dying to make a bigtime call. And that's a horrible trait for a referee to have.

Good post.

I believe the unsung hero for Boone County has to be Andrew Brown. He did a great job on both ends of the floor. He is a kid that doesn't get much attention but does a lot of the dirty work for this team.

Andrew has been playing great basketball. He is an all around great athlete who knows the game and plays smart.

Anyone know the attendance at the game? The gym seemed pretty packed. Also, I heard the game was being broadcast on TV, anyone know if it will be replayed and if so, where and when?

I don't know what the capacity is, I would guess it holds about 3K. Based on that I'd say between 2K and 2500. On the bench side of the lower bowl they didn't use about three or four rows. Most of the BC side was filled, the Holmes side was about 3/4ths full.

Capacity is listed as 2000. I'd guess 1500 to 1800 people were there.

I can see where your coming from, but IMO he is still a solid ref in the games that I have seen.
