I like Goldstars three ways, and I like skylines Coneys.

Grew up on Dixie, buy it by the case at the grocery to use at home, my all time favorite. Gold Star is the one I go out for, Skyline will do in a pinch.

Nothing like Dixie on Monmouth Street at 2 in the morning!!

I'm shocked that this many people like Goldstar. I have never had a pleasant experience there.

 

BTW, my family attends Skyline nearly as consistently as we go to Church.

Dixie IMO but Empress makes a wonderful Chilli pizza. umm is it lunch time yet?

As other posters stated, yes, but they have a new locale. I've never been there but my roommate brought some (leftover) chili down and it was excellent.

When I moved to this area many moons ago, I was appalled to see that cinnamon and chocolate were ingredients in the local chili. I can eat some of it as sauce on a hot dog, or over spaghetti as long as there's enough cheese and onions to overpower it, but that's about it. An acquired taste, I guess.

 

Must be. We have taken out of towners to chili parlors to teach them what REAL chili is. Never had an out of towner like it. Guess you have to be raised with it!

I don't get it as often as I'd like, but Skyline is my favorite!

Count me as someone who thinks all Cincinnati chili is terrible. I've tried Skyline, Goldstar, and Empress. They were all equally bad.

See...there's the problem. You have yet to experience the one truly good chili in town -- Dixie! :thumb:

Straight up chili, Dixie's the best... Add in the habenero(sp.) cheese, and Skyline takes it down...
