I think it would be awesome to hit all of the restaurants in CWB's list within a six month or less timeframe. Tonight is a fundraiser night at Skyline for my parish school. Can't wait!

People arguing about Cincinnati Chili always reminds me of the Ron White story about Cincinnati Chili.

Homemade 5-ways with Dixie tonight. Add some Tabasco and I'm close to heaven.

Someone took the time to do a taste-test of all the Cincinnati Chili spots and make a bracket to compare them all. Personally I know there are a couple of spots that I prefer over Skyline - I prefer Dixie Chili and Camp Washington, and have had all three in a side-by-side taste test.

The last Empress chili I had from a NKY restaurant was just not good. Very weak with no taste like what I remember when I was younger in 60s. I couldn't even finish it.

I’ve only had Skyline and Goldstar. There’s not much difference IMO, but I eat Skyline more often since we have it in Louisville. May have to try Dixie next time I’m in NKY.

The stand alone buildings in Alexandria and I think there is one on the West Side of Cincinnati. There are a few in gas stations and I think one downtown at The Squirrel( 3rd and Walnut or Main)? The wife is a Skyline lover and I am still trying to convert her. The Chili Pizza is a main attraction that nobody else has!

Chili pizza is a special food, I haven't had one in a few years but yes Empress was a staple in my childhood. We would always stop there (alexandria location) after baseball games when I was youngster.

There is no debate. Dixie is the answer.

Depends on what "type" of chili you're noting I guess. Cincy style is really a regional Greek/Mediterranean concoction invented by the Kiradjeffs in early 20s as a beef sauce for hot dogs sold from a cart. Empress Chili got its name from the burlesque theater next door named "The Empress". I love it all, and I also love the spicy real Tex/Mex chili.

Chili Pizza, think its the first I've heard of this.

Funny that this will be my first post, but I feel the need to inform you guys that Cretan's Chili is the best chili in town.

 

Be sure to show up with cash. They don't accept credit card. I've tried nearly all mentioned but Cretan's is far away the best.
