Markel is a good kid. Fine athlete.Good football player. Versatile.

No way on the rumor. Its a disservice to the young man to put that out there.

I was just as surprised and I heard this from a very close source and have heard others around him talk about it.

I heard CAL has a few players getting D1 looks. OL Max Godby 6'4" 260, LB Taylor Beach 6'1" 210, and Safety Adam McCord 6'0" 185.

Ryan Fritts of Corbin? hopefully he can recover from that season ending torn ACL.

St. Xavier's DB's Nick Sears and Taylor Jones both will have strong Senior Year Seasons. I look for the Jones kid to really shine this year.

I think Guy Lewallen is one of the better offensive lineman in the mountains. Lewallen did not give up a sack on his side of the line last year. He is a good student and a good quality kid. He is defintely an asset to redhound football.

Ryan Moses (QB) and Daniel Petit (TE) of Williamsburg.

They invited him to a camp. Several schools are looking at Markel and if I had to guess I think he will end up at Kentucky. Markel continues to get faster and stronger. He is an unbelievable athlete. Good luck to him in 2009.:thumb:

Watts and Roark from McCreary Central has to be as good of one-two punch as there is in the state. Both are great athletes and both are working their butts off to get ready for the 2009 season. Watts 6'2" 200lbs and Roark 6'1" 210lbs both are strong and getting stronger daily and both are very quick.

You and I must be the only ones who have heard of Watts and Roark. That's OK maybe they will sneak up on some people.

I heard recently he got an offer from UC but I'm not sure if it is true.

Coach Buckett announced in another thread that Quan Weaver of Frnakfort received an offer from Purdue.

David Carroll 6'5 280 lbs. Lloyd. needs to get stronger and faster if he wants to play college football but he will be attending a few camps this summer. Has good size and character.

Although single A players havent been getting great hype on here, Hayden From LCA will be one of the, if not the best RB in the state. The kid is squating 600, cleaning 365, and benching 345, AS A RB! This young man doesnt have speed that will dazzle you but he is quick and can turn it up when he has to. He reminds me of Ron Dane or Jones-Drew. DI player.
