Ole Miss 85 Kentucky 80

Featured Replies

I don't understand why Billy G didn't try to speed the game up. With every Ole Miss PG on the roster hurt, why not try to force them into some turnovers?

They just didn't have it tonight. Very disappointing, but not tragic by any means. Learn and move on.

Couldn't get an defensive rebound to get into transition...

They abused UK in the paint.

Abused might be a little soft. Assaulted? Man slaughtered???

When you shut Meeks down , whose going to score from outside? That's the whole story.

Problem is, UK isn't even in the same paragraph, let alone sentence of the above teams...

Notre Dame is simply fraudulant and is being exposed.

A key............ no, imo the key factor tonight was defense. Ole Miss played very good defense, U.K. did not guard anyone.

(of course when you are doing nothing but standing around on offense it makes it easy to guard you! :irked:)

Trailed on ball screens, no ball pressure, forced help played out of position...give OM credit for executing.

Jackson has a 2:1 A/TO ratio, while averaging double figures in points. Ayers shoots 40% from beyond the arc, and ALSO averages double digits in points...

No one denies ND is very good offensively, but they are bad on defense.

Well, we'll just have to agree to dis-agree. Every computer, every ranking, and every analyst as of next Monday will be more inclined to confirm my opinion, rather than yours.

Check out Ken Pomeroy. Has ND 50 and UK at 20 and UK will fall some, but I doubt 30 spots.

Pomeroy is fantastic.

Meeks and Patterson got their's tonight...they lost, to a HORRIBLE team.

Got theirs but didn't get enough. Patterson got far too many touches. Fault lays at feet of lack of point guard play.

24 pts, 7 reb, 2 blks...not that bad....Meeks did play poorly...and the recipe for a shut down of him, might have been revealed.

Whats the recipe? Double him off ball screens? Play taller players on him? Be physical with him? Nothing done tonight that hasn't been done before this year. They got nothing in transition, partly because they didn't rebound and play good halfcourt defense...

Didn't do what was needed...

Hate so say it but this team is a fraud. Record makes them out to be better than they are. Hopefully Xavier makes a deep run in the tournament so I can have someone to root for. This team will be out on the first weekend.

This is mainly the point I have been speaking all season

I don't think they are nearly as bad as they looked tonight. They got a little big headed. They didnt play very well versus Auburn but won, and did the same at Bama.

Their bench is awfully young and they got no lift from their bench...very poor continuity on offense, no ball reversal.

They are limited in areas, but tonight they looked big headed and not as mentally tough as they needed to be.

Mississippi had the hot hand. Meeks was off. Rebounding was non existent. Liggins was horrible. Ole Miss out hustled them. The reported asked a bad question. Overall, it's not the end of the world for UK but the schedule gets harder this month for UK.

Him missing shots? They played good D but if you play 30 bball games a year your gonna have off nights as well. The problem for UK is if he is off, they have no other jump shooters. Look at UK's guards. Porter is afraid to shoot, Liggins can't shoot and neither can Galloway.

That's a mouthful of excuses... :idunno:

Stevenson played the worst game that I've seen him play since he has been at UK. He was totally dominated on the boards. Always out of position and never ready to get a body on some body. I blame BCG a little for this because he never pulled him out of the game and tried someone else to pick up some slack on the boards. Carter would have been just as effective as Stevenson tonight.

Since when do.. "Rebounding was non existent" "Liggins was horrible" "Ole Miss out hustled them".. classify as excuses?

When the real answer is "they flat out kicked our "tails"...

I think we all have learned something tonight UK is the greatest team in the world according to some that have been posting and UofL will never be in their league.

On a side note UK is the cream of the crop in a poor league this season and they got their bottoms handed to them tonight. The score is misleading, Ole Miss was in control and out played Almighty UK tonight.
