January 28, 200917 yr Kentucky didn't play well, but this loss isn't as bad as some may think. Ole Miss is a very tough team to play on the road. I'm interested to see how this team bounces back. Andy Kennedy had his guys ready to play. Congrats to the Rebels. They were tough tonight. Jimmy Dykes, the more I listen to him, the more I start to dislike him as an announcer. Between CSI, toughness & not guarding yourself, I can't handle it. Cats never really played well. Meeks hit a few shots at the end of the 1st half and the end of the game, but that's about it. Obviously he was the focus of the D, but he didn't do a whole lot to get open either. And, when he did get the ball, there were at least 2 Ole Miss defenders there immediately. Ramon Harris is horrible. I like what Liggins tries to do offensively, but he's just not a shooter. Dykes is the hillbilly, younger version of Dicky V. baby.......... Except he is tougher.
January 28, 200917 yr I don't remember who was guarding the Whites but they dominated the game start to finish. That's because Stevenson never found the one he was supposed to be on.
January 28, 200917 yr I believe the loss came from two things. Dumb shots and being out rebounded. I mean how many times can you let a team get consecutive offensive rebounds. One every once in a while is understood but they were getting two and three in a row. Liggins needs to not shoot the rest of the year. He might as well give it to Meeks and let him shoot from halfcourt with the shots he was taking.
January 28, 200917 yr UK is a 25-35 ranked team without a second jump shooter. Miller could become the third scorer if he can controll his confidence issues. Edited January 28, 200917 yr by mcpapa R13
January 28, 200917 yr Remember, road loss in conference. Fourth road game in six to start the conference season. Not a great team playing at a team that absolutely had to have a win. This happens all of the time in every conference. It's a long season. Did UK play well? No. Can the problems be fixed? You bet.
January 28, 200917 yr Miller could become the third scorer if he can controll his confidence issues. That doesn't really seem to be the problem any more. Seems like he's playing really well right now.
January 28, 200917 yr Miller is still hesitant to pull the trigger. Edited January 28, 200917 yr by mcpapa R13
January 28, 200917 yr Kentucky didn't play well, but this loss isn't as bad as some may think. Ole Miss is a very tough team to play on the road. This loss is way worse than most (especially on here) think.....it's flat out awful. When you are a 10 point favorite ON THE ROAD, IN CONFERENCE, and lose? It's awful.....now all the false hopes and dreams of a legit seed and ranking are now put back in place.
January 28, 200917 yr miller could become the third scorer if he can controll his confidence issues I agree he could but we need another shooter more than that IMO. He's the kinda guy that will get his points on some garbage and other people creating for him. He isn't ready to take on a scoring role by himself. Welcome to the Site! :thumb:
January 28, 200917 yr miller could become the third scorer if he can controll his confidence issues Or if he could just make a few more shots. I realize that everybody loves Miller, and I like him too, but I'm not sold on him as the 3rd scoring option just yet.

It's awful.....now all the false hopes and dreams of a legit seed and ranking are now put back in place. Shouldn't it be put into some sort of context? Yeah, being a 10-point favorite and losing on the road isn't good, but what if Kentucky ends up 15-1 in the conference? 14-2? Is it still that bad? No one should ever judge a game ten minutes after it ends.
January 28, 200917 yr When you're losing and in a series of possessions you have Miller, Liggins, Stevenson, and Harris firing up 3s you deserve to lose. Films will not be kind to Stevenson. The next person he blocks out will be the first.
January 28, 200917 yr It's a bad loss from an RPI standpoint. Ole Miss was a 80 RPI, and this would've been worth more, being on the road. Road conference losses are going to happen, it's part of it. Some people had mentioned running the table, that's hard to do in any conference.

The bottom line is it's still January and there is plenty of basketball to be played. If Kentucky continues to win, everything will fall into place.
