January 10, 200917 yr Thats funny that you say that, because that is actually how I feel. I haven't drank pop at all and I feel better too. I think i was addicted to pop. After a while your body just kind of adjusts to your eating/drinking habits. When you kick pop out, after a while it's not that hard to not drink it anymore. Good for you! :thumb:

Good for you! :thumb:I drink all diet soft drinks; but I know what you mean about your body adjusting. I don't have cravings for a lot of things that I used to. And I don't think I get hungry as much since I've been trying to cut back.
January 11, 200917 yr Just stopping in to say good luck to you all. Eating right and exercising is VERY hard to stick with, but I'm sure all of you have it in you to do it. If you stick with it and work your rear ends off, you WILL see results, I promise! I gained a lot of weight my freshmen year in college, and I was determined to lose it, so I stopped drinking soda's, ate a little healthier and started exercising daily. I lost all of the weight and haven't gained it back since. I'm not in perfect shape now, but I'm in good shape. Anyone can lose weight if they put everything they have into it. So again, good luck, and stick with the healthy diet and exercising!!!!
January 11, 200917 yr Since I started eating healthier and cut out all the junk I'm actually not as hungry anymore. Didn't do so well yesterday though. Getting ready to head to the gym before going out tonight now. Same here.:thumb: I am eating better and less but don't think I have lost any weight yet.
January 11, 200917 yr Same here.:thumb: I am eating better and less but don't think I have lost any weight yet. Doesn't mean you aren't losing fat though. If you are working out you might be turning fat into muscle.

January 11, 200917 yr Went to favorite Mexican Rest. tonite and actually stopped and left a lot of food on my plate. I drank water and I feel really good about it. Started walking a lot this week and haven't touched sweet tea since last sunday. It sounds like everyone is doing ok and I know this thread and the blog has really helped me. Thanks for all the encouragement.:ylsuper:
January 11, 200917 yr Welp, I have been out of town, so I guess I'm getting a late start. But, my initial weigh in is 237. Yikes.
January 11, 200917 yr Well, I've made it this far. I hate counting calories, but I've been doing it and have surprised myself that I've kept it between 1800 and 2000 daily. I've also been exercising regularly, I hope I can keep it up. Saturday nights are going to be my "treat night". I'm going to eat and drink without worrying about the diet, but trying to keep in within reason. I will only eat one meal and no snacks afterward. I did pretty good tonight. :thumb:
January 11, 200917 yr I've done pretty awesome thus far. Haven't drank a sip of pop and I was what you could say a popaholic before the challenge. I have cut down to one diet MT. Dew a day... I feel much better...
January 11, 200917 yr Doesn't mean you aren't losing fat though. If you are working out you might be turning fat into muscle. Exactly, if you're running alot playing ball which I know HT is, you're body will begin to absorb water weight for when you "go into battle again". That's the one thing about working out which makes it a science, it's that EVERYONE'S BODY REACTS DIFFERENTLY. Even when you're trying to figure out weights, I've seen guys bench 100 lbs more on flat than they can on incline, everyone is different, to each their own. Keep up the work BGP nation
January 11, 200917 yr I have cut down to one diet MT. Dew a day... I feel much better... You know what the next step is. Honestly man you'll see even more results once you cut it out compltely. I played football and ran track in hs, I quit drinking pop around sophomore year because I noticed I'd cramp up and it would slow me down and I haven't drank it regularly since(just with alcohol or an upset stomach). Just kick the habit and you'll be a happier man for it.

You could drink 100, and the only thing you would gain is a lot of extra water. I don't really understand all the fear about diet soft drinks. If it's all the talk about the "dangers" of Nutrasweet or Sorbitol, these have pretty much been proven to be myths.

In fact, many diet drinks have 7-10 more mg of caffeine than their non-diet counterparts. Also, the pH of soft drinks is extremely acidic due to their phosphoric acid content. This low pH leads to significant bone weakening that would not otherwise exist with water. The implication that that drinking diet soda is essentially the same as drinking water seems to be a bit of a stretch for me.
