What Do You Have Coming Back in '09..?

Featured Replies

Any one have an update on the CCH coaching situation? I thought I'd heard that Coach Brossart wanted to know his fate prior to tomorrow.

Oh, and the Birds should be pretty decent next year.

I'm curious about this myself. Any word?

I will say it again, obviously you did not see the "2007" frosh & JV games.

Your correct the 07 Freshman team was one of Trinity's worst in recent history. The kids that made up that JV team are stronger than you think and most played another season on JV this season gaining more experience for their Senior season. That's the difference between X & T. Trinity gets their starters for the next season experience on JV, X doesn't use alot of Juniors. It's a lost year for the bulk of them. I've heard alot of X parents complain about X not playing their kids on JV to get experience. Looking forward to next season! Go Rocks!

For SK, just off the top of my head, here are some returning players that I can think of:

QB: Chad Lawrence

RB: Miles Simpson

WR: Zach Carroll

WR: Ryan Winkler

K: Chris Repka

DB: Sage Powell

LB: Nik Brown

LB: Austin Baldwin

OL/DL: Derek Piccirillo

OL/DL: Jordan Hansel

OL/DL: Adam Heidrich

Six A Trinity

Five A Highlands

Four A UP for Grabs

Three A Central

Two A Fort Campbell

One A Danville

Six, Five and three A are repeats for certain. While Central and Fort Campbell have too many athletes for the competition.

Small state with power concentrated in a few schools. Tradition Tradition Tradition. Hard to pick against proven winners year in and year out.:dancingpa

On the surface, Raceland looks depleted, but we have several good, experienced players coming back and a JV team that went 8-1 this past season, only loosing to Russell by a field goal.

RB Cody Kelley is back, he was the number three back, behind two RB's that totaled 2500 yards. Cody is a hard nosed young man who will be impressive this season at RB and at LB. He started on defense this past year.

C/DT Cody Grant is back, Cody will be a big difference maker for the Rams on both sides of the ball.

OL/DL Rockey Jobe and Eddie Compton will be returning. Jobe started this past year, and Compton was subbed in frequetly on the OL/DL.

Several young players got experience this past season and will see a lot of playing time this year. Micheal Litteral and Ralph Burchett are going to be big impact players. Austin Johnson will probably be starting on the OL/DL. Brian Caudill, played both OL/DL and RB. I don't think the coaching staff has decided where he will be playing, but he will be playing.

Bobby McKee was the return guy this past season and played WR/DB. He could be in the backfield or split out. Good speed and good hands.

Loren Huffman started on defense some and played quite a bit on offense. He will be in the starting lineup.

That is a good start, you will have to wait on the previews for the rest.

Lloyd returning starters.

Offense-

Qb- Dylan McGuire

Rb- Seth Chappie (2 year starter)

OL- Alex Drifmeyer (3 year starter)

OL- David Carroll

Wr- Trevor Gregory

Defense-

DL- Alex Drifmeyer

LB- Trevor Gregory

Lb- Jeremy Ray

Louisville Central only had 10 seniors. Most of them played defense. They will have to find some players that like to hit and run to the football. Offense, LC returns 8. All skill players are back. That could be dangerous with them avg. 42 points in the playoffs.

QB - King

FB - Boleware

HB - Wales (started but shared time with Hughes)

Z - Young / Bolden

X - Robinson

3 lineman

Raceland's offense will be in good hands, Farley has the ability to be a top QB in Class A before he graduates.

Where will Troxler fit in the mix?

Like I said, for the rest you will have to wait on the preview.:D

Honestly, I don't know, I would say he may be in the receiving corp, Raceland looks to have several athletes that are not going to have a true position. A good problem to have, but I don't know where they will end up. Competition will have to be used to help select some positions.

He has always had pretty good hands, He may also find some time in the backfield by the time the season starts.

That is kinda what I was expecting. Maybe a receiver, maybe a back. The problem we will have is, we have Cody Kelly back, who is going to be a great back. We have Jeremy Barr, who transferred in and is a great athlete, who is a going to be a very good back, and we have Micheal Litteral and Ralph Burchett who are really good backs.

We have Loren Huffman and Bobby McKee back at receivers. And we have Marcus Reed and Troxler, who are too good athletes to not touch the ball. So, I would not be surprised to see some players in multiple formations and at different positions to get them some touches.

Now, I'm not complaining, all of this is a great problem to have.
