Congratulations FC on repeating! NCC, congratulations on a nice year. Remember the feeling and continue to do what you need to do to make it back here next year.

When I was listening NCC had just scored their first touchdown in the third quarter. It was 13-6. A lot must have happened after that. Did NCC ever have the lead?

I wasn't implying anything at all with the question, I was seriously just curious.

Sorry if it was taken that way. :thumb:

They kicked a FG with about 3 minutes left to take the lead 23-20

Yes. They led 23-20 with about 3:30 to play.

FC answered with a trick play from 59 yards out when they ran a sweep that stopped and executed a throw back pass to Andrews the QB and he broke it, cut against the grain and took it home with about 1:40 to play.

Congrats to both teams. NCC has nothing to be ashamed of. Making it to I believe 4 straight state championships is VERY impressive. Today just wasn't your day.

Three straight...It was Beechwood and Mayfield in 05...

Still impressive...:thumb:

WOW! Everyone got their moneys worth in that game.

Probably the best game from a fan's standpoint yet.

How many TD's did Ft. Campbell have called back? NCC?

How many turnovers did each have?

FT. Campbell is CLEARLY the best team in 2A... NCC just had a chance to prove otherwise and failed to do so...

They were better, but if these two teams played 10 times, it's 6-4 Ft. Campbell.

The penalties and TO's washed themselves out in my opinion. Ft. Campbell had the players to break it at any time, and NewCath needed to sustain drives to win and they couldn't. Both teams had dropped passes at crucial points. These teams were pretty evenly matched. Great teams.

From the sound of the game NCC could never really get much going on offense. 1 td was on the lateral, 1 after an int. on the 5. can't remember if the other was on a short field or a long drive. seems that NCC did have 1 nice drive.

You're partially right, and you have to have been there to understand my answer. NewCath had the ball at least 8 times at 3 and 1-3 only to have a false start penalty. I've honestly never seen anything like it. That's why I said that the Ft. C's TOs and NewCaths penalties cancelled themselves out. NewCath would string together 2 or 3 first downs. Get it to third and manageable and shoot themselves in the foot, just like Ft. C did w/ their TO's.

NCC had 17 I think. Most of them were false starts. I think Ft. Campbell must have been emulating the snap count;):D

Not sure how many FC had, around 10 would be a guess...

The officials did not fall for that this week.;)

First NCC td was off the lateral return. The next two were off a tipped interception and a fumble both close to the Falcon end zone.

Both teams had many miscues, but NCC really did hurt themselves the most, because those mistakes were self-inflicted.

No excuses here. It seems like nerves just got to the big guys up front and after a couple it became an epidemic. It really was like nothing I've ever seen before. Thank God the D came to play. Outside of 3 huge plays, they did a pretty good job containing one of the fastest teams that I've seen in awhile.
