Was the game as close as the score indicates, but reading what was going on in the first half it was total domination by BW in every aspect but the scoreboard

It was close, because Beechwood kept turning the ball over. Hazard could have very well won this game.

 

Beechwood scored on the last play of the first half to go up 14-0.

 

Hazard had first and goal late in the third/early in the fourth and couldn't come away with points.

 

If those two scenarios play out differently, Hazard could have very well won this game 14-7.

 

I'm not claiming the teams were equal. I think it was pretty clear that Beechwood was the best team. But, the way they played today left the door open for Hazard...the Bulldogs definitely had some chances to win this game. They just couldn't capitalize and make the plays...credit Beechwood's defense for picking the offense up.

The delay of game penalty late in the second quarter with it 3rd and 1 was huge. Hazard could have ran out the clock, had they gotten the first down, insted they gave up 7 points.
