No, but had they made a move where they sold their house it wouldn't have looked so much like the parents simply rented an apartment in Fort Thomas with the sole purpose of establishing residency.

 

The bottom line in my mind is that this is a very simple case of a kid or his parents or both deciding to try to get their son on what they feel is a higher profile team to enhance his exposure to college coaches. That is a tranfer for athletic purposes plain and simple and as a result the kid is inelligible. The parents decided that they are above the rules and went ot court instead of just letting their son play on his old team. They and Dale Mueller are to blame if Highlands has to forfeit any games.

The way I understand the situation is the kid was ruled ineligible by the KHSAA. The kids family went to court and won, even though they shouldnt have. There is a rule against what he did plain and simple!! What more is there to say.

That is one of the rules of the board isn't it. Tell the truth. I'm just stated what was said. Go back and read it if you want.

I am not 100% sure on this part but I think the COA's ruling may just be procedural in nature and have nothing to do with the "facts" of the case. In other words, the Campbell Judge gave the temporary order but he never had a full hearing to either grant or deny a permanent order and I think this ruling by the COA forces either a full hearing (due process) in this case or it says the decision by the BOC stands. My point is, I don't think the COA is taking a side on the facts of the case yet, they are just setting the foundation to do so at a later date if need be.

I wasn't for sure before and never bothered to check but now at least Lawrence County didn't have the worst record to qualify for the playoffs this year.

Hats off to the KHSAA! It's time for all this nonsense to stop. We are talking about high school athletics here, not college recruiting or professional drafts. Eventually when you play with rope, you will hang yourself! This is just the beginning of things to come for both public and private schools who try to beat the system. No sympathy here except for the rest of the legal Bluebirds.

Yes, people can be misinformed. Look at Highlands for example they were misinformed when they were told to "go ahead let him play".
