Breaking news! Highlands may be losing their best player for the finals!

So the way I'm looking at it they don't forfeit the playoff games in order to keep from having to back up and change the entire playoff setup and this will still allow a championship game to be played.

The thinking behind this rule is dog doodoo. So they have to forfeit the regular season games because an ineligiable player played. Yet even though that ineligiable player played in the state tourney they dont have to forfeit those games. The KHSAA is talking out of both ends of their mouth with that rule.

Omnipotent are we?
I don't know about the rest of you, but I can have kids. :ylsuper:
72birdman, you cant argue that IF ALL ELSE HOLDS TRUE in the Bell Highlands game minus Mitchell that Bell doesnt win. Thats an inarguable point

ALL ELSE NEVER HOLDS TRUE....

Someone would have been on the field in Mitch's place...what effect would that player have had? Maybe he stops Robbins long run and :creepy: bursts through the line to block the FG and returns it for a TD

What if's never work

No pretty clear.

Mitchell cannot play.

HHS can.

They will.

The games are played on w/o Mitchell.

HHS forfeits all games except the playoff wins.

Your probably right, but I have a feeling its gonna get crazy the next 3 days!!

But since they were 0-10 they shouldn't have qualified for the playoffs and it keeps getting deeper.

I think it is ridiculous that they don't have to forfeit the playoff games, I mean they mean the same amount as the district games and they have to forfeit those.

Regardless, the best thing to do is to let the teams play w/o Mitchell.

It is a crummy way for a lot of teams to end their season losing to HHS, but there will never be a right answer for this.

It just needs stopped from the get go in the future and maybe this will allow the coaches in the future to JUST SAY NO.

and a whole bunch of hurt feelings.

And maybe if Mitchell doesn't play in the district games Highlands loses all 4 and doesn't make the playoffs. We can play this game all night.

Omnipotent are we?

You mean Omniscient. Omnipotent means all-powerful. Omniscient means all-knowing.

And while I see your point, as long as he stipulated that if all else held true, he's correct. You can disagree with the premis, but the whole point to me is that we CAN'T know what would have happened without Mitchell, and Highlands should be oh-fer.

Why would it? Isn't HHS playing Saturday???

So let me get this straight, Mitchell played in all of Highlands games and now is not eligible,so they forfeit all their games, which makes them winless. Then they play Boyle in the 3A championship game? Talk about a controversy.

Exactly!!!

It will still be going on for months. No matter what the outcome. Just like the Prez election in 2000 you will have a bunch of people on both sides of this for awhile.

72birdman, your the one dealing with what ifs, I'm dealing with Bell Highlands minus Mitchell, and thats not a what if, take the game 2 weeks ago and minus Mitchell, its Bell Co. 10 Highlands 0. If you want to get into the philosophy of it all, Id be glad to on another occasion or through a pm.
