2)The bylaw also specifically does not use the word tournament or playoff, only mentioning the 'state title competiton.' Which could be read to mean only the final game, or the whole tournament.

83 Admiral, your exactly right its a bunch of crock. Lets just take a team full of ineligiable players and play with them all the way through the State Tourney till we win the championship and just forfeit the regular season games.

I agree, Mitchell was a big factor in this game for the birds. Bell could be going to L'ville to play Boyle sat. if it wasnt for that one fumble or that TD run...

 

Or that fumble into the endzone by your RB or the fact that Bell couldn't move the ball in the 2nd half or the sun wasn't in my eyes...... :creepy:

I am also pretty sure he was the differnece In the H.H.S/Cov Cath game also.

powerhouse_bell... not sure of his impact in the Cov Cath game, what was it?? I only know for a fact akw4572 that without Mitchell, if all else holds true, Bell wins the game.

That is why we need to get the Leatherneck on here. These rules are left to a lot of interpretation.

Thus, legally, the KHSAA ruling of ineligibility was valid and any games Mitchell participated in are to be forfeited.

 

Except those in state championship competition. So, 3 wishes, the champion will finish with 4 wins (the playoff ones only) or with all (if it's Boyle).

 

Sec. 1) Use of an Ineligible Player

When a student is declared ineligible, all contests in

which he/she has played while ineligible shall be forfeited

to the opposing team except that this may not apply to

state championship competition.

 

So did HopTown get to keep their wins throughout the playoffs the year Pinner was ineligble?

Should HHS have to give the Region trophy to Cov. Cath and the Semi trophy to Bell County?

72birdman, forget Robbins fumble or Bells inablility to move the ball in the 2nd 1/2. If the whole game, including the latter 2 points hold true even still without Mitchell Highlands doesnt score against Bell. Bell wins. Plain and simple.

WOW, this is a total mess, and not just for Highlands or Boyle or Bell or Cov Cath, but for everyone.

Remember I said "might", unfortunatley for all sides involved we will never know.

The ? that comes to mind is who's fault is it? Not the KHSAA.

How can coaches put what’s best for one player in front of all the other players. What about the kids who have worked hard all year for another championship just to see it taken away. The family may have gone to court with it but the coach made the decision to play the kid. No coach should put the team in a bad situation just to win. If anyone should get a black eye out of this it should be the COACH. :fire:
