My point exactly how can you qualify for the playoffs legally if you never won a district game. This has got to be one of the most interesting situations I have ever seen, for something like this to happen right now.

Because, once the playoffs begin, you would be opening a pandoras box to even try to go back and sort it all out. It would be impossible and too time consuming to even consider. Better to remove the ineligible player and let the team carry on without him.

Right. If anyone affected should NOT be ticked off, it is the team that would have squeeked into the tourny. Bell Co. gave Highlands everything they could handle, and might have been able to win state. Or any other good team defeated by Highlands in the tourny.

 

I as a Bell Co. fan wish Bell could play in the game, but I know its not possible and Highlands earned it, legal or not. However I think if they are allowed to play the title game how could Highlands be the champs, geeze I'm so confused right now my head is spinning.

That's exactly how I see it!

Nothing against the other teams in the tourney, because they would deserve to benefit from this pandora's box effect as we called it if Highlands forfeited all their games. However, the only teams in the tourney or on Highlands schedule with a realistic chance of beating Highlands, even without Mitchell, was Boyle, Cov Cath or Bell, and Mitchell truly had a HUGE impact on the Bell Co. game, just previously mentioned. For Boyle Co. it doesnt really matter as far as the tourney is concerned, just their season record.

I agree, Mitchell was a big factor in this game for the birds. Bell could be going to L'ville to play Boyle sat. if it wasnt for that one fumble or that TD run...

This mess goes deeper then that. If you go with that thinking then Highladns loses to Frankllin and EJ and Cov. Cath. You can't go back and play the games again. But I do feel bad for Bell. Highlands does not beat Bell without Mitchell.

Sorry, but I don't think teaching kids to be skirting rules is the right thing to do. The rules say he has to sit a year, and that should have been that after the ruling came down. Truth be told, w/o Mitchell they still might be sitting where they are, getting ready to play on Saturday with no questions asked.

I am also pretty sure he was the differnece In the H.H.S/Cov Cath game also.
