Why would it? Isn't HHS playing Saturday???

Exactly. Just hope it drags in court long enough, and you're golden!

I think it is ridiculous that they don't have to forfeit the playoff games, I mean they mean the same amount as the district games and they have to forfeit those.

Regardless, the best thing to do is to let the teams play w/o Mitchell.

It is a crummy way for a lot of teams to end their season losing to HHS, but there will never be a right answer for this.

It just needs stopped from the get go in the future and maybe this will allow the coaches in the future to JUST SAY NO.

I pretty much agree. There is no way to fix the past. Could something like this affect Dale's job? This scenrio will clearly carry on long after the state title game is over. Dale put them in this position.

I think letting Bell play in the finals would be an acceptable answer. That may not be the actual outcome, but aren't you still rewarding Highlands by letting them play in the championship even they used an inelible player to get there?

And maybe if Mitchell doesn't play in the district games Highlands loses all 4 and doesn't make the playoffs. We can play this game all night.

EXACTLY!

Congrats on 1000 72BF.

I think you just argued the wrong side...

No.

If you do that then CovCath would file suit. And so on.

But Bell was Regional Champs as to Cov Cath was only second place In there district.
Congrats on 1000 72BF.

hey 02Ram54 will get his 900th, and I got my 700 tonight. Maybe ther is a silver lining in all of this.

The thinking behind this rule is dog doodoo. So they have to forfeit the regular season games because an ineligiable player played. Yet even though that ineligiable player played in the state tourney they dont have to forfeit those games. The KHSAA is talking out of both ends of their mouth with that rule.

As unfair as it sounds, they did it for situations like this, ifits still the regular season its not to hard to unravel. But once the playoffs start things get complicated when dealing with these situations, fair or not this is the procedure the khsaa decided to use. It the easiest way to deal with the problem. Not fair by any stretch of the imagination, but probably the only way they can go at this point. :walk:

I thought they had to forfeit the playoff wins?

Ineligable players in the playoffs dont count for some reason.

I just wanted to get everyone to relax for a moment.

Congrats on 700.

I just got back from Highlands and the rumours are flying. There were 2 lawyers in our group who said that the appeals judge who ruled against Mitchell today was from Boyle land. There are 2 Northern Ky appeals judges and it wasn't one of them. i can't believe Smith would stoop so low. Go Birds

If Bell can't play for it, then I think that Boyle should just be awarded the title. That's just how I feel. After today, that should be it for suiting up for Highlands, they used an illegal player to come past other teams, and Boyle shouldn't be forced to say 'We were the best legal team in AAA!' which they would be if the game were played and Highlands won. The string of Highlands messing up the AAA bracket should end now before further damage is done.

I've asked it once and I'll ask it again. Does the KHSAA ever, EVER, consider these kids?
