Breaking news! Highlands may be losing their best player for the finals!

Featured Replies

Well it took 7 pages before someone from Caketown turned it around and blamed Boyle county for Highlands using an ineligible player. Talk about low. Wouldn't it be nice if some people just stepped up and said yeah we screwed up and now we have to pay the price. I would love for Highlands to play Boyle with Mitchell but that isn't going to happen. I can guarantee you that Chuck Smith and the REBELS had nothing to do with this, it has been ongoing all year long.

As a Rebel supporter, I assure you we want nothing more than to have Mitchell on the field, legal or not.

So what if he is still inelligible come Saturday? Play him anyway. What are they going to do, lock HHS up? If you win, you keep the trophy, the heck with what the record books. And if we win, we get the trophy.

Boo to the KHSAA, I do not fault the decision, but the timing is most inappropriate. What difference does another week make? If this happens after the fact, at least we all know who truly is the 3A champ.

At some point during the 3A game, I propose a collective boo from both sides to show our distaste toward the KHSAA.

Or the shirts that will have their schedule.

W State champions.

I just got back from Highlands and the rumours are flying. There were 2 lawyers in our group who said that the appeals judge who ruled against Mitchell today was from Boyle land. There are 2 Northern Ky appeals judges and it wasn't one of them. i can't believe Smith would stoop so low. Go Birds

I sure hope you are not referring to Chuck Smith!! Chuck and TITLE TOWN are nothing but CLASS and have nothing to do with this!!!!

I think this should be a fair warning that if the Highlands are cheaters remarks keep coming then this thread will not last long and it will be closed. So let's just stop that because it will go no where in the long run and get nothing that we want to know accomplished.

You yourself said these are rumors, so you go out on limb and blame Smith for something that I'm sure he had nothing to do with or at least none of us would know if he did. I'm sure he has been practicing all week and watching film in hopes to win instead of being on the phone with a laywer.

Trust me Smith has bigger worries on his own staff than to worry about the eligibility af a player on another team.

I wasn't for sure before and never bothered to check but now at least Lawrence County didn't have the worst record to qualify for the playoffs this year.

Thanks Highlands

What was Mueller suppose to do???? The court said he could play so he let him play. Now the court says he can't play so Mueller won't play him until this gets overturned again by the end of the week. If I was Mitchell's dad and a court said my son could play and Mueller wouldn't play him I would sue Highlands. What was Mueller suppose to do???????
Exactly! But you're not going to get the sour grapes bunch or the Highlands haters to understand those facts!

Why did you quote me? I know this and tried to re-itterate those same sayings into Birdfanactics head. Re-read my post again.

What happened to his staff

Was Muellar threaten by action from the Mitchells if he didn't play him?

I'm going to say this again: The KHSAA did not cause this to come down so late: the KHSAA ruled about thirty years ago it seems like that Mitchell was inelligible. The courts finally got around to overturning another court's injunction that let Mitchell play. That's not the KHSAA's fault.

Not so, BF.

The temporary injunction did give the OK for Mitchell to play, but was subject to be overturned by the higher court. Which happened and which also means that the injuction was never valid. So we revert back to the original KHSAA ruling of ineligibility as the prevailing ruling on the case.

These risks were known going in.

Stay tuned!

Again, the KHSAA did not choose the date, so boo the Court of Appeals. The KHSAA filed the appeal weeks, months ago and the Court of Appeals ruled on it today. Bad timing? Yes. Fault of KHSAA? Hardly.

The fight is still not over :madman: :madman: :madman:

You are correct, Highlands still has to play for a state championship, so I hope they still do have some fight in them. However, the tribe has spoken, Mitchell has been voted off the island.
