Breaking news! Highlands may be losing their best player for the finals!

Powerhouse Bell has been Bird bashing every since the week before the Bell/Highlands game.

I agree, but that is his problem...get over it. Lighten up!

I think we can all agree that whatever is decided, KHSAA will not miss out on the chance to make a buck. If it were found at this point that both teams entire rosters were made up of kids that aren't enrolled in a Kentucky high school, they would go ahead with the game to get the gate.

I agree 3, but as a coach did Dale have a choice. Once the injuction was in place what is is reasoning not to play one of your best players. Doesn't Dale have to honnor the court's ruling?

Absolutely NOT... the original injuction only granted him temporary protection from KHSAA action, NOT the right to play for Highlands.

The only way Mueller would have been "forced" to play him would have been for Mitchell to also be granted an injunction against Highlands.

THAT was the decision Coach Mueller had to make when this stuff came about before the season.

He threw the dice... and they came up "snake eyes".

Would or could someone answer my question please. Does the Court of Appeals set a date and time when the appeal has been made???

I think it was said earlier that there was no way of them determining when the ruling when occur.

Except, you have it all backwards. I would say that Mitchell was never elligible. I'm certain the KHSAA never thought he was elligible.

Oh well anyway, it's only right to go on and play the game. The Kids on both teams at least deserve that.

Powerhouse Bell has been Bird bashing every since the week before the Bell/Highlands game. I'm sick of it. Now that Highlands has another fire to put out he has to try to fuel it. :fire:

Not really bird bashing, I was backing up bellallumni because of some post that a Highlands poster was making (not naming no names)...If you remeber the FIRST thing that I said when I was in the thread Highlands 15 Bell 10 was congrats and I hope you do good when you play Boyle...There is no fight to fight here, the game is over I said congrats and I still hope you do good when you play Boyle...

I did get on Highlands case though because of some post that was made, and I was backing up bellallumni because I thought he was right and still do...

Birdsfanatic... LIG it man... let it go.. I have engaged in serveral battles with Powerhouse Bell also over the Highlands/Bell game. The game is over. It is a part of history now. Move on and focus on the Boyle game. Powerhouse Bell is an emotional guy and has had alot of trouble dealing with the Highlands loss. Just let it go guys its over.

I hope a Boyle County affiliate did not do this too Mitchell like stated before. I would think Boyle County would want Mitchell to play. I f Mitchell dose not play and Boyle leaves with a win then Boyle will always have to here this explanation.. ( Boyle County wins but might have lost if Highlands would have had Mitchell.) Now do you want to win a state title under those terms?

The KHSAA hearing officer ruled in his favor orginally. It was the KHSAA Board that went against the hearing officer. Why??? As a HHS fan I have NO doubt Boyle and anyone associated with Boyle had nothing to do with this. I like the fact that some Boyle fans even suggest that Mitchell play no matter what. That's what I like about Boyle Co. They want to be considered the best and they don't want to hear the "what if" questions that will be started as soon as Boyle wins on Saturday.

I just got back from Highlands and the rumours are flying. There were 2 lawyers in our group who said that the appeals judge who ruled against Mitchell today was from Boyle land. There are 2 Northern Ky appeals judges and it wasn't one of them. i can't believe Smith would stoop so low. Go Birds

So after thinking about it after you posted this ,are you still standing behind this nonsense!!!

STATE CHAMP - This had nothing to do with Boyle County, that was an irrevelant post. This was to do with the KHSAA.

oneijoe, I believe HHS was listed as a defendant when the Mitchell's took it to court. I'm not disagreeing with you but what do you tell the kid when the courts ruled in his favor. The sad thing is if the KHSAA would have been consistent with this rule from day one we wouldn't be having this problem right now. The first time they granted a waiver of this rule they opened up a can of worms.

I never said it did! I was going of birdsfanatic's post and quoting of that read into things more.

Champ,

Good point. If your going to win a title, war, or a battle I would wanna go through whatever the other team has to throw at me. There are some fingers pointing at Boyle but IT HAS NOT been proven. The Boyle people are on here saying they want Mitchell to play but you no deep down inside they don't. He could be the reason they don't win the state title. I think the Highlands/Boyle match up state title or regular season has turned into a fine battle almost like a war. In war the honest guy rarely wins

Except those in state championship competition. So, 3 wishes, the champion will finish with 4 wins (the playoff ones only) or with all (if it's Boyle).

Sec. 1) Use of an Ineligible Player

When a student is declared ineligible, all contests in

which he/she has played while ineligible shall be forfeited

to the opposing team except that this may not apply to

state championship competition.

So the way I read the rule, Highlands shouldn't be playing in the championship game. Because Bell won the semi game due to forfeit. The only way it counts in the state game is after it is played and then the ruling wouldn't apply.

No. By state championship competition, they mean "the playoffs."

That's what I like about Boyle Co. They want to be considered the best and they don't want to hear the "what if" questions that will be started as soon as Boyle wins on Saturday.

That's my feelings exactly! Boyle and Highlands are top notch programs! They don't duck anybody and they are powerhouses because they don't live with excuses! Excuses make programs weak! I wish both teams could have every player healthy, buckle their chin straps and get it on! :madman: :fight:
