January 5, 200917 yr Which Wolfpack? (Warning) at SOAS? NKY Warriors 14U won both of their games today to finish 9-1 for the season and secure the 2nd seed in the tourney. They beat Old Spice Red Zone by 35 to 23 this morning and beat the Wolfpack (Warning) tonight 44-33. Colin Dupont led them this mornign with 13pts and three 3pters. Donovan McCoy and Nathan Grosser shared scoring honors tonight with 11 a piece. Warriors are playing some very good ball as of late and looking forward to the tourney in 2 weeks. Nope...it was their big boys!
January 5, 200917 yr Nope...it was their big boys! Bulls played one of their best games of the year... Hopefully they can build off of this victory... Next week should be fun, I'm sure the Wolf Pack will be ready for the final regular season AAU game @ SOAS... Bulls were supposed to play the Knicks tonight, not sure what really happened but they ended up playing the Raptors in a pick-up game... I think the Knicks played earlier out at SOAS?
January 5, 200917 yr I have mixed feelings on the DI,DII debate. We played DI and won a game with our school team, Played the Legends really close for 3 quarters, and got beat pretty badly in the other two. We finished 4th in the DI state and it made us better. On the other hand, I watched the Johnson Central team we beat by 12-15 in the 6th grade middle school state semi-finals walk away with the DII state championship trophy. I really can't say either way but I do think 12/u DI and DII this season will not be that much different. 13/u I think there is a big difference. I do think if I were the Wildcats 10/u and had won the state last year I would have to try DI just to see. Good luck guys, whetever you decide.

Our 7th won, they beat Clay County in the finals.
January 5, 200917 yr Our 10/u Albany Bulldogs went to the Knott County Sportsplex and played this weekend. Wow! What a nice facility, eastern Kentucky basketball is going to get alot better very quickly. The place was packed and Dave put on a really good tournament there. You should try to go there once anyway. We stayed in Hazard at a very nice hotel and there were some nice resturaunts and 0 traffic. We will go back.

I'm curious who will be the D1 teams in U12 and U13 this year. Any ideas????
January 5, 200917 yr Nope...it was their big boys! Congrats on the nice victory. They are definitely beatable and the Warriors should have taken care of business in regulation against them. They had numerous chances to win that game but missed a ton of 2nd half FT's. Did the pack have their stud from GC in this game?

The Bulls played mostly zone to try to keep him from penitrating. It worked for the most part, but he did get in the middle a few times.

It worked for the most part, but he did get in the middle a few times. I would imagine zone would work pretty good against them as long as you do cut off the penetration and find Barnes. Warriors played man-man the entire game and held their own. Warriors broke out the old "Cobra" this past weekend 1-2-2 trap against the Wolfpack (warning) and created some havoc. That works pretty well against teams that don't have good ballhandlers or can see the floor well.
January 6, 200917 yr I'm curious who will be the D1 teams in U12 and U13 this year. Any ideas???? I'll guess: U12 D1 The Ville Legends KY Elite Central KY Tigers Suns U13 D1 The Ville Legends KY Elite Tarheels Suns
January 6, 200917 yr I'll guess: U12 D1 The Ville Legends KY Elite Central KY Tigers Suns U13 D1 The Ville Legends KY Elite Tarheels Suns U12 D1 Omega Flight??? Wolfpack???
January 6, 200917 yr U12 D1 Omega Flight??? Wolfpack??? You're right I forgot those 2 teams. Both of these teams need to try to play The Ville & Legends before state to see if they can compete. I fairly certain that they can compete!
January 6, 200917 yr I'll guess: U12 D1 The Ville Legends KY Elite Central KY Tigers Suns U13 D1 The Ville Legends KY Elite Tarheels Suns Unless they have added the team recently, The Ville do not have a 13U group. Also, Clinton County and Fleming County played 12U D1 last year. From reading southernkyhoops earlier posts, I am not sure what they will do this year, but I would think Fleming County should stay D1. Plus, I would think Hoop Dreams would be involved in D1 as well. Edited January 6, 200917 yr by Rainman11
