January 13, 200917 yr What high school will they go to? I think you can put together a team for the purpose of making them better for the next level and still have goals of winning tournaments. What AAU team does not want to win tournaments? Is it Omega's fault there was no competition in their league? Why did the Wolfpack not play in this league? Finally, I agree with 3breds2b. If a team's goal was to win D1 State, they would be pulling players together from miles away and not just locally. I heard a rumor the Wolfpack's coach contacted Omega before the start of the year about making one team and Omega said No Thanks. From what I read sounds like a good group of local kids playing real good basketball together. So what if they go to 3 different high schools. Most of the kids will attend NCC. One Campbell Co. and one or two Highlands..

Actually Omega said he wanted to do the same thing and then after more thought they both decided not to merge. Rumors aren't always true, but no big deal. The point about 3 different high schools was to compare to Wolfpack which will send players to 3 or 4 different high schools. So in the grand scheme of things not much different between the two teams. Both teams play M2M defense, both teams have good coaches and players. Now it just comes down to who wins when they play. Let the games happen and don't make excuses if one or the other loses. That's my frustration with posters on here who talk a big game and then when their team loses they make excuses. One lesson that needs to relayed to all children in sports - Don't make excuses! Take responsibility for what happens and make yourself better.
January 14, 200917 yr Any teams entering the 8U state AAU tourney? Thinking about forming a group and taking them down to play in early March.

Nobody was making excuses or talking a big game...you made all the statements. I posted the facts about Omega going undefeated in the SOAS League...then you begin to speak of the so called "SUPERMAN." What kind of expectations are you expecting this kid to live up to if you, as an adult, are referring to him as superman. A merge was never considered w/that organization. Obviously you do not know all of the parents on Omega w/the comments you are making. You seem to be frustrated because I posted that Omega went undefeated along w/the NKY Wildcats in U10.

No frustration. Just asking a question in regards to your "twin towers" comments. Sorry, I didn't know I could ask a question or respond to your comments. I will keep that in mind.
January 14, 200917 yr Are there any brackets to this tourney available, does anyone have any that they could put on here? Thanks. Darren doesn't do anything by email, just by phone. So I doubt anybody on here would have a bracket to post.
January 14, 200917 yr Any teams entering the 8U state AAU tourney? Thinking about forming a group and taking them down to play in early March. I here the NK Wildcats are trying to start one. And I know the Tarheels will be there as well.
January 14, 200917 yr I here the NK Wildcats are trying to start one. And I know the Tarheels will be there as well. Right, I hear Charlie Hawkins is the contact for that group. thanks

January 14, 200917 yr Now now boys cant everybody get along? LOL That was me that made the "Twin Towers" comment which in essence is a very true observation. I dont see what the big deal is if teams want to combine to go downstate and compete in D1 tournaments and possible National tourneys. It essentially takes pulling kids from all over to compete.
January 14, 200917 yr I did not make a "Twin Towers" comment! No frustration on my part. I'm not frustrated either. We both are non-frustrated individuals. I'm living the dream.
January 15, 200917 yr 7th grade Wolfpack (Geiman) plays Old Spice at 3:30 on Saturday in the first round of the U14 league tourney. Last time they played Old Spice won by 12. Wolfpack had the lead for 3 quarters, then Old Spice played some junk defense and the Pack struggled missing one of their starters. Old Spice hit their free throws down the stretch to cement the victory. With like opponents, Wolfpack has beaten the Flight and played the Knicks to 1, both of which Old Spice lost. I look for the Pack to be playing the Warriors on Sunday in the 2nd round. 7th grade Pack by 5 vs. Old Spice. Any other predictions on first round games?????

We lost in nationals last season when someone played a "junk" defense on us. When in actuality, it was our junk offense that caused us to lose.

Are you implying Omega is making excuses for losing to the Wolfpack in the Georgetown Tournament? Just curious, who wound up winning the tournament?
