I think Dalton will play 6th with the Ville. His dad was working a couple of kids in Bowling Green the other day for the Ville. He might play 6th for the Elite in the state and then go to the nationals with the Ville but I think he will play for them all year. I think they feel it gives him more clout statewide.

 

Are you saying that the big wing from London is playing with the Tigers? He was a nice player for the Ville last year. They wanted him to play down low and when he didn't perform they quit playing him as much. I think he is an excellent perimiter player and with his length he can cause some problems for other teams playing out on the court. If he is playing with the Tigers they will be tough.

You watch too much ESPN. The men I know on this site that coach AAU teams and are involved with those athletes are so far removed from your comment that I don't know where to begin. And where are the rules stretched? AAU enforces their rules and monitors them accordingly. Or are you talking about a different set of rules? Whose rules? Yours? I simply don't follow. And FWIW, I'd be curious what your contact with AAU truly has been. Would you care to elaborate on how you've developed your opinion of AAU?

Watch too much ESPN?? I lost your point on that one. I will correct something i said earlier. I said the the majority of the people involved with AAU are not interested in developing better men. I will correct that statement and say the minority. I do think that "AAU" is a great avenue to develop players and to push kids along in their development. I think that the term "AAU" is so losely used to basically cover all of the basketball that's played outside of school ball that at times it probably gets a bad rap. From myself included.

 

I do think that there are those select few out there that take the attitude of winning at all costs which in my opinion, doesn't lead to developing kids into better men.

The kid was with the Tigers and came off the bench. Didn't do much but he is a player. Sounds like The Ville is reaching out to reload. If that's the case they will probably be the team to beat.

IMO the best 6th grade guard in the state is Dalton from Clinton County. Brendan Stanley (Boone County) or Mckee (Scott County) is the best low post players at that grade level. I believe both are exemptions.

4th grade Wolfpack team won the Holiday Tournament at Sports Plus in Cincinnati last night. Beat the Friars Club by one point. The 5th grade Wolfpack got beat. Can't remember the name of the team that beat them. Coach for the Wolfpack got tossed in the second half.

An exemption is an exemption. Doesn't matter if it is 2 weeks or a full year--AAU basketball is the only sport that allows such a thing.

Understood. In high school you can have a whole team full of exemptions as long as they are 19 by Aug 1st of their senior year. I believe I there are some high school teams in KY with several kids that are 19 some or most of their senior year.

By high school, the majority have matured to the same level. That is not typically not the case in fifth thru eighth grades.

Suns lost to Wolfpack in the semi's. As for the Refs at Sports Plus, I don't know why they wear whistles around their necks. They don't use them. Games where very physical. I know Sports Plus starts under new ownership tonight at midnight. I know he is getting rid off most of the refs that call games up there.
