No offense Mr. Pop, but grade exemptions are here to stay. As long as the kid is eligible to participate in athletics (not 19 before the start of the school year), the kid is eligible to play AAU. Why should AAU be different from high school ball???????

Why don't the age match up with that of school (August 1) instead of September? There are kids that have never been held back that are grade exemptions because of their birthday.

NKY Flight lost to the Outlaws Sunday morning and to the Bulls Sunday night. I wasn't there so I have no deteails.

Overall a good weekend getting 7 games in.

U12 Wolfpack beat Central KY Tigers (2nd place D1 last year) and Omega Flight. Tigers by 10????? and Omega by 15????? I heard the Tigers beat Omega by 30+ earlier in the day.

Anyone see the game??

Who won the U10 division?

In KY schools the age cut off is Oct 1.

Where did you get that from?

They have to draw a line somewhere. If they moved it to Aug. 1st, there'd be those who say, "Why can't it be July 15th?"

Bylaw 3. Age

Pursuant to KRS 156.070 (2) (e), a student who becomes nineteen

(19) years old before August 1 shall be ineligible for interscholastic

athletic competition. A student who becomes nineteen (19) on or

after August 1 shall remain eligible for the entire school year.

Flight did really well against the Bulls... They have a lot of heart and were in it till the end... The longer they are together with the same group of kids, I see good things from them.

Just for calrification - this is from the KHSAA handbook - not AAU.

AAU is September 1.

Evidently I midunderstood what was being discussed. I was thinking about the date to start school. Kids who are 5 by Oct 1 are allowed to start kindergarten that year. However as we know many parents opt for their kids to wait until the following year esp if they have a fall birthday.
