With a roster like that they really should stop playing in the Div. 2 circuit... I'd like to see how they'd do with some of the Div 1 teams... They should go for bigger and stop playing down to some of these teams around NKY...

It is very difficult to do that in early AAU season with the school ball conflicts. You also have to travel over an hour to find games as Ohio AAU season does not start until March. And, that is a lot for kids and parents ($$ and time).

With that being said, it will be difficult for them to compete with the likes of The Ville and KY Elite. The Wolfpack are a high level D2 team which showed in their runner-up finish in last year's D2 state.

And the Wolfpack's best player from last year is now with KY Elite.

If you are going to canvass 4 or 5 counties to find the best players you could be playing Div 1. Notice I said COULD, not should. Do I care if they play Div2 not really. As long as they are in our league and my son's team gets a chance to play them is all I care about. Playing a team like that only makes other teams better. Winning Div 1 or 2 state titles is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

I don't want to get the DI vs. D2 argument started AGAIN, but we should go back to the time in KY when there was 1 AAU tournament or do it like other states and everyone plays in a tournament, the top 4 qualify for D1, the remaining teams play another tournament D2 a following weekend. This has worked in NC and FL for the last couple of years.

I think afi knows that...:D

That is a good idea, but it then comes down to money again... Paying for one tourney and then another plus travel and room & board... I'd like to see it revamped, where D2 has no grade exempts, straight age and that's it... You can play up but not down... Maybe if only for tourney time (State/Nationals?)

No offense Mr. Pop, but grade exemptions are here to stay. As long as the kid is eligible to participate in athletics (not 19 before the start of the school year), the kid is eligible to play AAU. Why should AAU be different from high school ball???????

NKY Flight lost in OT to the Conner Colts by 4, then beat The Outlaws by 15 or so out at sportsville.

I believe The Outlaws beat the Colts as well..

Wow, the Outlaws beat the Conner colts, that is somewhat surprising.

It's only what I've been told. I wasn't at the games.. It sounded like the Flight should have came away with the victory in the first game as well but Conner pulled it out when it mattered most.

Geoff Johnson plays with the Flight on Saturdays but for religious reasons doesn't play on Sundays. He his a great asset to the team when he plays. I was told Ayers went off against Conner. A all around team game made easy work of The Outlaws.

U12 Wolfpack beat Central KY Tigers (2nd place D1 last year) and Omega Flight. Tigers by 10????? and Omega by 15????? I heard the Tigers beat Omega by 30+ earlier in the day.

Anyone see the game??
