Refs call a bad game again!
A third official would be ideal in every game, however, the home teams decides whether there will be three officials or just two. Unfortunately, very few schools request three officials for their games.

What schools have a middle school volleyball program?
I believe that every public school in Northern Kentucky has a middle school volleyball program.

Why would you not believe me?

If a player is making a move to the basket, there is no three second count.

School district eligibility question.
Which county do you pay school taxes? I believe that is the county you must attend.

Holmes v Cooper Predictions (1/29)
Game is canceled tonight--rescheduled for Friday night.

Do you think 7th and 8th graders should play up?
I don't necessarily agree. I believe that if you want to build a program, you need to have the older players on your team as leaders. The players that have worked hard--played Freshman, JV and finally earned their spot on the varsity team. By always moving the younger players up to play in front of them tends to kill a program. Honestly, there are not that many 7th and 8th graders (there are always a few exceptions) that would be stronger than the Juniors and Seniors if they would have been able to work themselves up in the program.

Holmes v Cooper Predictions (1/29)
I'm sure it is a conference game.

Why are three Refs used in High School BB games?
All official associations need more officials--maybe you should join the ranks. It is easy to call a game from the stands--not quite the case on the hardwood. Honestly, I don't know of any officials that don't give a 100% while out on the court. It may not be up to your standards (typically those in the stands only see the game one-sided, that is not the way an official calls the game), but they work hard the entire game.

What is KHSAA rule if a varsity player quits?
I don't believe this is a KHSAA rule, however, I am sure this is a school rule at most schools. If you quit a team, the school will not allow the player to play another sport until the sport they quit is finished for the year.

Rules question
The only braces that need to be covered are those with exposed metal. Haven't seen many (if any) braces lately with any type of exposed metal.

Rules question
Kentucky follows the National Federation Rules--these rules are all discussed at the Rules Clinic in which officials and head coaches must attend. This rule would never become an issue if the coaches informed their players and enforced it. Because they don't (or won't), the official has to be the bad guy (gal).

Rules question
The rule is that headbands may only be white, black, beige or the predominant color of the uniform. Prewrap is conisdered a headband. All officials should be enforcing this rule.

LCD or Plasma tv?
Several months ago, we got an LG 47" LCD and the picture is exceptional. Two years ago we got a JVC 52" LCD. The difference in the picture in only two years is unbelievable.

I guess it depends which team you are rooting for as to whether or not free throw should be even.

Technicals?
IMO, the coach knows that dunking before a game is against the rules so why would they allow their team to dunk during pregame. They should be teaching their team the difference between right and wrong. If that is a rule, they should enforce it themselves.
