You are exactly correct. It's a pretty simple rule (a headband is anything that goes around the entire head) and all team members must wear the same color as those listed by NDFan4Ever. It's a rule, just like all the others, and all officials should enforce it.

For clarification, the team has to wear the same color. One girl can't be wearing white while another girl wears black.

 

In addition, a player cannot wear both pre-wrap and a traditional headband. One or the other.

Prewrap is supposed to be the beige color. I have seen all officials enforcing the headband rule. I don't think they like to, but they do it anyway. In addition, the band can only contain one logo. Not several of the same, but one. This one I think is being missed sometimes.

That's what people get confused on.

Here's some examples:

Team B is wearing blue uniforms. Players are wearing white headbands. Legal.

Team B is wearing blue uniforms. 3 players are wearing white headbands and 3 are wearing blue headbands. NOT LEGAL. Somebody (doesn't matter who) has to switch the color of their headbands or take them off.

Uniformity is the key. All players must wear the same color, whether it be white, beige, black or the dominate color of the jersey/torso.
