ladiesbballcoach Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 This has been ruled several different ways by different officials. Rules state that all headbands must be the same color. No problem there. But girls have gone to wearing pre-wrap in their hair to hold back their hair and it now comes in multiple color and is a fashion item.:ohbrother::lol: Some officials have said no to the pre-wrap if it is not the same color for each girl. Some have said, it's not a headband so it can be whatever color. Some have ignored it. What do you guys think?
Incognito Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 What happened to facilitate this rule? Are all wrist bands, knee braces etc. required to be the same color?
ebayer Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 A good official just uses common since to make a determination. Most don't worry about a head band color or hair band. Just make sure the T-Shirts are the same color as the jersey over them.
Claude Henry Smmoott Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 The rule states that anything that goes around the head (headband, prewrap, etc) is considered a headband. It therefore must match the dominant color of the uniform. It may not be enforced by every official but that is the rule as I understand it.

The rule is that headbands may only be white, black, beige or the predominant color of the uniform. Prewrap is conisdered a headband. All officials should be enforcing this rule.

All officials should be enforcing this rule. You are exactly correct. It's a pretty simple rule (a headband is anything that goes around the entire head) and all team members must wear the same color as those listed by NDFan4Ever. It's a rule, just like all the others, and all officials should enforce it.

Just make sure the T-Shirts are the same color as the jersey over them. I didn't know officials got to pick and choose which rules they apply.

All officials should be enforcing this rule. For clarification, the team has to wear the same color. One girl can't be wearing white while another girl wears black. In addition, a player cannot wear both pre-wrap and a traditional headband. One or the other.
D-UP Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Prewrap is supposed to be the beige color. I have seen all officials enforcing the headband rule. I don't think they like to, but they do it anyway. In addition, the band can only contain one logo. Not several of the same, but one. This one I think is being missed sometimes.

Pre-wrap is not limited to beige. It can be white, black, beige, or the dominant color of the jersey.

Clyde Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Absolutely correct. Its partially correct. Yes on the definition. No on the color restriction mentioned.
jahearme Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Pre-wrap is not limited to beige. It can be white, black, beige, or the dominant color of the jersey. That's what people get confused on. Here's some examples: Team B is wearing blue uniforms. Players are wearing white headbands. Legal. Team B is wearing blue uniforms. 3 players are wearing white headbands and 3 are wearing blue headbands. NOT LEGAL. Somebody (doesn't matter who) has to switch the color of their headbands or take them off. Uniformity is the key. All players must wear the same color, whether it be white, beige, black or the dominate color of the jersey/torso.
jkkreutzer Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Don't we all have more important issues to be concerned about?
jahearme Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Don't we all have more important issues to be concerned about? :notworthy: But, a rule is a rule.
