September 12, 200818 yr I have heard that the National Guard is on their way to the Pikeville area. Supposedly, the stations are predicted to be completely out of gas in that area by 10 PM. Am I missing something. Why are they running out of gas? All b/c the gas prices are rising???? Do people think they if they fill up today they wont ever have to fill up when the prices are higher. Blows my mind.
September 12, 200818 yr Am I missing something. Why are they running out of gas? All b/c the gas prices are rising???? Do people think they if they fill up today they wont ever have to fill up when the prices are higher. Blows my mind. People are in fear of the gas prices skyrocketing. There have been long lines of cars waiting to get gas here in Richmond and also in Pikeville. Some gas stations in Pikeville are running out, or have already run out of gasoline. Some stations here in Richmond are refusing to allow anyone to pump gas. There are so many people freaking out and rushing to fill up, that the stations are running out. If the stations run out then people may not have gas to get around, get to the hospital, take their children to school, etc.
September 12, 200818 yr $4.09 in Edgewood (NKY). It does seem as though they're gradually rising. Lines were forming at the couple I drove by as people are getting off work and filling up before it goes up too high.
September 12, 200818 yr I tried to warn people last night but put my thread in the Politics form... the super spike could actually get worse next week.
September 12, 200818 yr Anyone with specific complaints about specific gas stations are encouraged to email information to [email protected] because phone lines have been jammed. So many people are having trouble getting through to the attorney general's office that the Secretary of State's office, which has no control over such issues, has been inundated with calls, said Les Fugate, deputy secretary of state. Take pictures if you can, get the store number from the manager on duty, send your e-mail.
September 12, 200818 yr Just drove past several stations in Owensboro. Prices ranged from $3.74 to $3.89. No stations appeared to be out of gas, etc. Looked to be business as usual.
September 13, 200818 yr Being from Pikeville there has been several gas stations that have ran out of gas already and more are expected to run out. No one expected this rise in prices this quickly and was unable to prepare for it. On a side note, A lot of states are being investigated for raising their gas prices because they don't even get gasoline from texas so they have no reason to raise their prices. Such states included were North Carolina and Florida along with other states were reported.
September 13, 200818 yr Mt. Vernon stations were limiting people to $20 of gas, they still ran out across town. It is 4.69 at Kroger in Corbin. 3.99 in Pineville. 3.85 in London. 4.49 in Middlesboro. I was watching CNN around noon and they reported that KY was seeing the highest increase nationwide and they couldn't explain it. Gov. did agood job thus far, lets make them pay for this gouging.
September 13, 200818 yr I did think this was odd. Last night I went to Richwood, and the shell was at $3.99 and the BP right next door was at $4.09, and the crazy thing is that people were at both gas stations like the prices were the same lol. (They were not crowded at all, regular in and out flow.)
September 13, 200818 yr It might mean that these gas stations dropped their prices back down before someone reports them for gouging. That is what happened. Several stations in WKY dropped their prices after what the governer did. There were a couple that were $4.59 and dropped to $3.99 after that.

I hope those idiots enjoy the thousand dollar fines they are going to get, people like that are just a burden on society.
