September 12, 200818 yr Live in NKY and just came back from lunch and passed 4-5 stations , very few cars in them. Gas was $3.74- $3.89. Thats even better,
September 12, 200818 yr What the heck is going on up there? You'd think the hurricane was headed for here with the way people are acting...
September 12, 200818 yr The governor has declared a state of emergency to help deal with price gouging but so far I've not quite been able to figure out what that means. I see nothing about a price cap or rollback, just extended investigative powers. http://polwatchers.typepad.com/pol_watchers/2008/09/beshear-declares-emergency-to-prevent-price-gouging.html

September 12, 200818 yr http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/industries/energy/oil-jumps-nearly/ oil actually dropped in price today! This is crazy, at least the governor finally did something right though, maybe they will actually prosecute some of these people and make an example of them!
September 12, 200818 yr I work for Enterprise Rent-a-Car and we got word this morning to raise our "pre-pay" gas prices to $4.50 We also got word about the prices rising around the state this morning. Our drivers have reported seeing gas as high as $4.63 in Knoxville, TN and $5.75 in North Carolina. Also, I spoke with someone who works at Speedway in Richmond today and he said that they have been instructed to raise the price of gas to $4.63 by the end of the day today. It appears to be happening gradually, the BP in Richmond is at $3.99 right now. This is up from the $3.63 that it was this morning. I would almost guarantee that we start seeing the $4.50+ gas prices around 4:30 or 5:00 PM today.
September 12, 200818 yr Gasoline rises on Ike, but crude dips below $100 Crude oil on the futures market, however, briefly sank below the psychologically important $100-a-barrel mark for the first time since April 2 -- showing that investors believe a worsening global economy will continue to drive down demand for some time in the United States and elsewhere. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080912/oil_prices.html
September 12, 200818 yr I have heard that the National Guard is on their way to the Pikeville area. Supposedly, the stations are predicted to be completely out of gas in that area by 10 PM.
