What the heck is going on up there?

You'd think the hurricane was headed for here with the way people are acting...

Thats even better,;)

I almost hated it that I had a full tank.

It went up from $3.69 to $3.85 in Lexington.

Someone call Jack Conway...
Who ?????????????????

Something smells alright. the fat wallet of the oil companies.

The governor has declared a state of emergency to help deal with price gouging but so far I've not quite been able to figure out what that means. I see nothing about a price cap or rollback, just extended investigative powers.

It might mean that these gas stations dropped their prices back down before someone reports them for gouging.

I work for Enterprise Rent-a-Car and we got word this morning to raise our "pre-pay" gas prices to $4.50

We also got word about the prices rising around the state this morning. Our drivers have reported seeing gas as high as $4.63 in Knoxville, TN and $5.75 in North Carolina.

Also, I spoke with someone who works at Speedway in Richmond today and he said that they have been instructed to raise the price of gas to $4.63 by the end of the day today.

It appears to be happening gradually, the BP in Richmond is at $3.99 right now. This is up from the $3.63 that it was this morning.

I would almost guarantee that we start seeing the $4.50+ gas prices around 4:30 or 5:00 PM today.

It is still $3.62/gallon as of this afternoon in Hopkinsville.

Gasoline rises on Ike, but crude dips below $100

Crude oil on the futures market, however, briefly sank below the psychologically important $100-a-barrel mark for the first time since April 2 -- showing that investors believe a worsening global economy will continue to drive down demand for some time in the United States and elsewhere.

I have heard that the National Guard is on their way to the Pikeville area.

Supposedly, the stations are predicted to be completely out of gas in that area by 10 PM.
