September 2, 200818 yr What are the Tennessee coaches thinking. They have a RB who is one of the best in the nation who had 100 yds in the game, and he's in for one play in overtime? I don't understand at all. UCLA deserved to win. The Kraft kid was very clutch.

September 2, 200818 yr Typical UT football. Clearly the more talented team, but mistakes/play calling lost them the game. Why did they keep sending Lincoln out for 50+ yard FG attempts? Foster's fumble at the 5 was a back breaker. The non-safety call on UCLA was terrible. The ball was clearly in the endzone when he went down. (of course UT then proceeded to get an offsides penalty to move UCLA off the 1 foot line)

Actually I think a better way of putting it is that they coached themselves out of the game. In the first half Foster would gain 6 or 7 yards on 1st down, then UT would attempt to throw the ball the next two downs. I have yet to figure out the fascination with having to pass the ball just to remain balanced on the play calling list. I see this now even in high school. If you are gaining 5+ yards a pop on the ground, why ever throw the ball unless necessary?

This was a great game. I never root for Pac-10 schools, but I was happy for the UCLA quarterback at the end of this matchup. He looked about as bad as a QB can look in the first half, Neuheisel let him know about it, too, only to come out and look like the best QB in SoCal in the 2nd half. That's gutsy, to say the least.
