September 2, 200818 yr UT's offensive coordinator is probably going to get Fulmer fired after this season if he keeps this up. This was a great game. I never root for Pac-10 schools, but I was happy for the UCLA quarterback at the end of this matchup. He looked about as bad as a QB can look in the first half, Neuheisel let him know about it, too, only to come out and look like the best QB in SoCal in the 2nd half. That's gutsy, to say the least. I don't know about getting Phil "the great pumpkin" Fulmer fired or not but I agree with the rest of your post. Fulmer has had his teams loaded with talent and "underperform" for years and nothing was done so who knows? Fulmer may not be a terrible coach but he sure isn't a great one imo, not with the talent he has had. I too rarely pull for the pac10 in anything but I was tonight. Putting that kid back in the 2nd half was a great choice and confidence builder for him. Had the UCLA coaches benched him that imo would have done more harm in completely detroying the kids confidence. Gutsy and great move by Nueheisel. UCLA's defense looked very good and with Norm Chow as the Bruins "O" coordinator it was clear that U.T. was far outcoached last night. Edited September 2, 200818 yr by oldrambler
September 2, 200818 yr They are burning couches and pickups in Knoxville tonight Actually it probably wasn't until morning. No way their plane got in before 5:00 AM......:fire: That was a fun second half and OT...
September 2, 200818 yr I was actually for Tennessee for a change and they blew it. The fumble at the 5 by Foster was a killer. They score there and I believe they win this game. UT had the more talent and depth and still found a way to lose.
September 2, 200818 yr I wish UCLA would have blown the game. I can't for the life of me figure out why UCLA called their last time out at the 2 yard line w/ 35 seconds left. If they run it down 10 seconds and use it Tennessee doesn't tie the game and have a chance to win in O.T.
September 2, 200818 yr Just think...UT gave Fulmer a contract extension. I would think their fans are going nuts tonight. The SEC's version of Lloyd Car...Phillip has two L's as well... It's amazing that those two won back-to-back titles in '97 and '98...what was going on with college football?

That plus, after the TD, they come out and "pooch" kick it, allowing UT to get the ball to (even past mabey) the 40 yardline! 2 completions and they are lining up to kick the FG. I thought, with the momentum, that UT would win in the overtime!
