Hate to say it, but......

Colerain 35-14:irked:

Colerain 35-13

Colerain is too big, too strong and too deep for the bluebirds. It is rare that a Highlands team is outmatched, but in this game, that is the case. Ohio football is on a whole nother level. I think if Highlands wants to make a game out of it, they are going to have to out coach them. Little things like onside kicks, and fake punts must be used to keep Colerain on their toes and perhaps give Highlands a few extra possessions. I would like to see what Dale has in store.

True, Colerain is big and strong, but they are not deep. The Birds D should stand up to the challenges thrown at them. I was at the Colerain, St. X game and the Cardinals offense struggled the entire game. They have no passing game which should allow the Birds lots of freedom with the linebackers and DB's.

On the flip side, the Colerain defense is very strong against the run. Unfortunately, St. X had no passing game so I am unable to comment on the Cards pass defense. Chances are their Dbacks will be fast and physical if they are prototype Colerain backs but they have not been tested by a passing offense to date.

I really think this game will be close. I am hopeful of a Birds victory and I truly hope our O line steps up and quiets their critics. The battle will be won in the trenches and Highlands Trenchmen will step up to the challenge!

I have been told that Colerain plays no one both ways. If that is the case they are indeed deep. I predict a much better game than most expect. Highlands has a very fast defense with intellegent players. Those two things along with good coaching and an offense(system, not players) that is easy to defend will keep the game tight. I say Cardinals 14 Birds 6.

Colerain has two VERY impressive wins going into this game..... Tyler Williams is tough to stop... Colerain runs that 50 slant like I believe Ryle ran, other than the screen passes Ryle's D was not bad and Colerain is 100X faster.

Colerain 21

Highlands 3

No, they don't.....

My bad I heard something else about our schedule. Sorry. It was just our game with X that was 8:00.

I watched some of the Colerain players at UC's camp this year. They are extremely fast. I think Highlands will have problems with them.

Ohio games start at 8:00.

No. The game starts at 7:30. And I recommend getting there no later than 6:45 in hopes of getting a parking spot. Although, if there is any fan base than can handle crappy parking conditions, it's Highlands.

Hey CF, are you finally ready to acknowledge what many have felt for some time: that Colerain is going to have a very, very good team this year? :D

No. No I'm not.

An no one has felt that for a long time. No one that follows this program felt before this season that we would be "very, very good". Those who know knew that we'd be very young (starting 6 sophomores...which is unheard of both at Colerain and in Ohio Div 1) and very inexperienced at many significant positions.

Not ready to break this game down yet. Need to do some more research. Will have something mid-week. Still not overly optimistic about our chances.

What a night for Northern Ky football. Highlands is finally going to get the chance to show the Tri-State why they are one of the best programs in the area. Even with all the adversity the Birds have had to deal with' date=' all the Colerain field and seasonal records. Coach Mueller will have the Bluebirds in national ranking mode. Look for the under dogs to win this one. H-27 C-20 Good Luck both teams![/quote']

What do you mean by finally, HHS has played Cincinnati teams several times over the last 6 years without any success. The OH teams are just too big.

Cards by as many as they want!! To big, to strong, and to fast.

Okay, you got me on the "many" part. :D How about "some" felt that Colerain was going to be very, very good? :thumb: I know you guys are very young and I agree that starting sophomores is a very scary idea playing Div 1 football in Ohio, but my "guess" is that those sophomores must be very, very talented if they can beat out juniors and seniors in a program the likes of Colerain.
