Yes, Bardo ran the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400. Highlands qualified 7th in the 4x100, 3rd in the 4x200 and 1st in the 4x400 in the State Finals.

Thanks for the write up LN. I know Beatty has a lot of respect for Dale and the kids at Highlands. He loves their toughness and speed. One thing I've noticed from both programs is that there aren't many fat people on the team.

 

He believes he's gets a whole lot more out of these types of scrimmages as oppposed to 7 on 7 tournamanets. Maybe we can get you guys down here next year.

I do have to a admit I got a chuckle when a Trinity fan sitting at the top of the bleachers started the "Bluebirds don't want any part of playing Trinity during the regular season and won't schedule us" stuff. I've asked Dale directly if Beatty has called him and tried to schedule a game and Dale told me he has not. Then again, I don't know if Dale has ever picked up the phone and called Beatty.

 

Not sure why they don't but the 'Rocks & the 'Birds should get it on every year...

They're too busy ducking each other. HHS fills in with some no names like Elder and Colerain while T schedules some patsy like Cinti St X. Go figure.

These 7-on-7 things can whet peoples' appetites but I don't believe they are indicative of what lies ahead for the participants.

Any word on what the "final scores" were to the two HHS-Trinity 7 on 7 contests? LN mentioned something about the second game being 2-1 HHS with a few minutes left.

Obviously you don't know the reason. For one (and the only necessary reason), such a request would be futile. If you weren't already aware, the KHSAA only allows teams to move up if they are geographically isolated, and then it is to the next highest class that will result in them not being geographically isolated. I was told that by a member of the BOC so I have it on pretty good authority. In Highlands case, that is 5A. So to answer your question, Highlands cannot move up to 6A. While I respect Trinity, when Trinity starts scheduling teams twice and three times their size, then I'll be really impressed with them. Winning 6A almost every year is very impressive. But, and there is always a but, almost every team (or is it every team?) in 6A is smaller than T. Whereas every team in 5A is bigger than Highlands, which to me is even more impressive.:thumb:

You are welcome. And Mueller has a lot of respect for Beatty and the Trinity kids. In many ways, the programs are very similar. Both coaches believe that speed kills and fat kids usually aren't very speedy. I think both programs take good players and make them great and take average players and make them good. The most athletic teams aren't always the best teams and I think Highlands and Trinity prove that most years.

 

If the traditional scrimmages with Male ever end, I'd hope that Mueller and Beatty would work something out
