Hard to express the words that this family and community is going through. Thoughts and prayers are with you from Clark Co.

My heart is broken!!!!! The first thing I did last night when I got home was hug my kids. As I said before, I lived very close by to Mitch and use to see him and his younger brother always in the street shooting hoops and throwing the football around. Man I'm going to miss seeing that!!! I'm so sorry for the Waldemeyer family.

Heartfelt, touching tribute for Mitch last night. He was a great young man, who will be missed every day. Bob and family, you are in our prayers.

My prayers go out to his family and friends and the community of Ft. Thomas. This was very sad news. A young man still so much more life to see and yet we must understand that God does have a plan for all of us. I'm sure God will take care of him and his family. May he rest in peace.

The world has lost a great young man. I attended the ceremony last night and it was very emotional. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Waldenmeyer family. The Ft. Thomas community has not only lost a great student-athlete but also a great person. May God rest his soul in peace and give all of Mitch's friends and family the strength to get through this together.

I don't want to appear to speak for the Waldenmeyer family, but I'm sure they really appreciate all the supportive posts and all the prayers you all have made for Mitch and them. It really is heartwarming to read all of these posts, particularly from posters throughout the state that didn't know Mitch or don't know his family. It says a lot about this site and the people in this state. I'm sure the Waldenmeyer family would want to extend a big thank you for your concern.:thumb:

I told my son last night to look at where the posts were coming from while he read this. He was amazed. The BGP family is just that...family. When one hurts we all hurt.

So sorry to hear of the lose to the community your team and his family this has happened way too much here lately with the tragedy of the Apollo kid and now this. Our prayers are for all of you in Ft Thomas and especially Mitch's family during this tough time. I can only imagine how they are feeling with a son the same age words just could not describe how it would affect me.

Could not believe this when I heard about it. Another child taken from us at such a young age. Mitch is in a better place now. Condolensces to the Waldenmayer family on their loss.

Mitch Waldenmeyer, age 15, of Fort Thomas, Ky., died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio

 

Mitch was a sophomore at Highlands High School - Ft. Thomas, KY. He was a member of the track team where he excelled at running the hurdles and 100 meters. He was a wide receiver and defensive back (#21) on the State Champion Football Team. He loved music, snow skiing, fishing and building models.

 

He is survived by his Father, Bob Waldenmeyer of Ft. Thomas, KY and his Mother Dianne (Mounts) Urbon of Ft. Thomas, KY.

 

He is also survived by his

 

One Brother,

Jason Waldenmeyer of Fort Thomas, Ky.

 

Maternal Grandmother,

Mary Mounts of Powell, Ohio and his Paternal George E. Waldenmeyer of Fort Thomas, Ky.

 

Arrangements are being handled by A. C. Dobbling & Son, 106 S. Ft. Thomas Avenue Ft. Thomas, Ky., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, April 20, 2008.

 

Funeral Service will be at First Baptist Church of Fort Thomas 600 N. Ft. Thomas Avenue Ft. Thomas, KY at 10:00 AM Monday, April 21, 2008, Reverend Steve Gabennesch officiating.

 

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Ky.

 

If desired, memorials may be made c/o Mitch Waldenmeyer at any Bank of Kentucky Location.
