Man, two years older than my little brother...

So, so sad...

I'll pray for those around who loved him, they're the ones who need them...

This is trajic, it seems every year for one reason or another we lose a member of our football family, and every year you wonder why, they are so young and vibrant and set an example for all of us. Please except my heart and soul as I give it to this young man and his family.

To the Bluebirds, take all the good and bad that has happened to you this season and gain strength from it, you know God and a young man named Mitch will get you through this!

Prayers to the bluebird family

It was nice and fitting indeed that during the CovCath vs. Highlands baseball game on Saturday, that the CovCath announcers asked for a moment of silence for the young HHS student (Mitch Waldenmeyer's) who passed away Thursday. While CovCath and HHS are huge rivals, I know that if the need arose, the students, parents, teachers and fans of the Bluebirds would be there for CovCath as they were last year for one of ours. Mitch will be in our prayers this Sunday at Mass.

Visitation for Mitch will be held today from 2-6 PM at Dobbling Funeral Home in Fort Thomas.

While CovCath and HHS are huge rivals, I know that if the need arose, the students, parents, teachers and fans of the Bluebirds would be there for CovCath as they were last year for one of ours. Mitch will be in our prayers this Sunday at Mass.

I thought it was very telling that Cov Cath held a special memorial service for Mitch. It's a very unique relationship between these two on-field rivals. :thumb:

I heard that Mitch's teammates -- all clad in suit and tie -- stood in line together for well over a couple of hours to pay their respects.

What a tragic loss. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to everyone that shares in the loss of this young life being taken at such an early age. My prayers to the family and the entire Bluebird community.

What a touching ceremony to send off Mitch Waldenmeyer! Thanks to the school choir for lending their beautiful voices to the ceremony, the Ministers for their comforting words, the FB team for being there in support...you'll never know how MUCH you all meant to the Waldenmeyer family, our "friends" at CovCath (your flowers were as beatiful as the sentiment behind them), and to the community for rallying in support to once again demonstrate why Ft. Thomas is so special! And special thanks to the individuals (and they know who they are) who arranged for the cannon to give Mitch a Bluebirds' highest salute! And to all the BGP-ers who've expressed their sympathies and prayers (whether posted or not).
