If I had to pick this year's Sanjaya, I'd say it is Kristi Cook.

Castro doesn't thrill me too much. Not only does he have the "bad hair day" thing; but his style is not very "commercial."

:thumb:I agree with you on all points. I think Kristi Cook will go on to have a career in country music. I mean, Kelly Pickler, did it, why can't she? I also am not a fan of Castro's hair and believe that he might have trouble breaking into mainstream music. As I mentioned earlier though, for some reason, I really like his sound and can actually see myself buying one of his cd's later on down the road.

I said the same thing after he did Billie Jean, but for some reason, I wasn't feeling it as much tonight. I'd still rate it is a good performance and believe that he will definitely have a recording career ahead of him.

 

On a side note, I hate when they have to sing one singer's/group's songs all night. If you're not a fan of that particular singer, it kind of makes for a boring night. Obviously, I'm not a huge Mariah Carey fan.

What if two people want to sing the same song on any given night? What process do they use to decide which contestant gets to sing it?

I just got done watching this weeks episode on DVR. I think the bottom 3 will be Brooke, Carly and Kristy with Carly going home this week.

C'mon now BF... Are you seriously comparing Kristy Lee Cook to Carrie Underwood or am I reading that wrong? I can see maybe a comparison to Kellie Pickler, but Underwood? Uh... No... Carrie Underwood is one of if not the face of today's country music. She has yet to release a single that has not been a #1. She not only is a star of today but could well be headed to legendary status at the pace she is going. Voices like Carrie Underwood don't come along too often. It's unfair to both parties to make that comparison.

 

Kristy Lee Cook could/will probably suceed to a limited level in country music, but no where near that status...

Paula topped herself for craziness tonight. The judges were asked to give a brief review of each contestant after they had all completed theur FIRST song. At her turn, she proceeded to review Jason Castro's first song and then moved on to review his second song...which he hadn't sung yet. :creepy:
