Michael Johns is gone. What a shame. He was one of the best. Can't believe that he got voted off. He's definitely better than several of the one's who are left. Now that he's gone, I'm gone. Don't think I will watch the remaining episodes. Let the teenie-bopper win.

I think Johns was hurt by David Cook. Very similar singers and styles but Cook was better for most of the show. And those who liked that type of music built their loyalty to Cook early while Johns was struggling.

I think what hurt Johns was his age. He was the oldest in the competition and probably lost out because he didn't get a lot of the teen votes because they are struck on the younger contestants. He's definitely not a teen idol like some of the others are but better than most who are left. Oh well, I'm sure we will see him down the road.

Johns was one of the three best in my opinion.........it kind of reminded me of when Chris Daugherty got voted off a couple of years ago as everyone appeared to be shocked.

Johns will have a good career in the music industry regardless.

I couldn't believe that they voted him off. I saw Randy Jackson saying something to him last night, perhaps it was, do I have a contract waiting for you. I do think his age hurt him but it is a true shame that he was voted off at this time and didn't have the time to sing some more.

He and David Cook were by far the best of the remaining contestants IMO. Wonder why they didn't give a pass this year like they did last year? I think it's fixed. Cancel the remaining shows and give it to David Archuletta. He has a good voice but definitely not the best performer. Michael Johns will be a bigger hit than any of the remaining contestants. A rocker never wins. I'm done watching it after this week's garbage.

Taylor Hicks blew the too old to win argument out of the water a couple years back.

Michael Johns was the best performer this year. Look at the reaction of the crowd during some of his songs. "We Will Rock You" brought the house down. Michael definitely entertained the audience the most. There must be new criteria for winning this year other than best performer, most entertaining and best singer.

I'm a little surprised to see such an allegiance to Michael Johns on here. I can't remember a single performance where he blew me away, unlike a couple of the others. I agree, that he was consistent in his performances, but I never really became a fan. So far, the performances that completely captivated me were Castro's "Hallelujia" and "Somewhere over the Rainbow", Cook's "Billie Jean", and Archuletta's "Imagine". Of those that have been eliminated, I a really liked Overmyer's "You can't do that" and Chikeze's "She's a Woman". Michael Johns has never been on my radar from the beginning. Right now, I'm hoping Jason Castro or David Cook win. Compared to those that are left, these guys tend to have a style that can see myself listening outside of the show.

If I had to pick this year's Sanjaya, I'd say it is Kristi Cook. Although, I gotta say, even she isn't as bad as Sanjaya was. I can understand if you're not a fan of Castro. His style is not one that everyone can probably get on board with. He's a simple performer--one that doesn't add a lot of hoopla to his performances. Usually, it's just him and his guitar, or as the case may be, his ukelele. I, personally, find that kind of refreshing. I think he has a unique sound to his voice too--another reason why I am a fan. To each their own I suppose. :thumb:
