January 23, 200818 yr Sorry, it really is. There wasn't a single second where Chris Lofton played for a team I liked, and I could never even like him as a Kentucky boy because no Mason County fan would ever let up on the fact he wasn't at UK. I'm a Mason County fan, and I think, and have always thought, that he was better of at Tennessee. He would have never gotten the opportunity that he has gotten at Tennessee at UK, and he would never have made these great accomplishments that he has. That's no reason to hate him and downplay his great accomplishment tonight, even though they lost. He's a great basketball player and an even better person.
January 23, 200818 yr Stevenson looks good on the offensive end when he is patient and doesnt rush his shot. A lot of times he gets guys in air, he just has to wait a second and let them clear out and its usually and easy dunk.
January 23, 200818 yr Ramel Bradley led this Cats team to the win tonight. He shut down Lofton in the second half. Patterson controlled the paint, 20 pts. 8 rebs., and how about that monster swat late in the second half. Now if we could get a little consistencey we'll sape up just fine. The Cats are playin with passion and fire which is fun to watch as a fan. Stevenson improving with 15 pts. Is Gillispie finally getting his players to beleive? C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS!!
January 23, 200818 yr In BCG I trust. He managed this game very well tonight. His players (or Tubby's players:D) are starting to get "it" on the defensive end. If UK is going to make a run at it here they must have that same exact effort on the defensive end every night. A win like this can only make these guys buy into the system more and more. :thumb:

I'm glad he's done in Rupp. I hope the whole "Loftongate" does not carry over with Miller coming here. (Like when they Talk about Miller coming from Mason, leads straight to Lofton not being here. Sort of like the Kevin Bacon game.) Lofton the player I can appreciate, but the media made me hate Lofton the Martyr. Good win for the Cats, though.

Wes Jones plays in that game in 04 and you have more reason to hate Chris Lofton. You must be proud of the fact you beat a Mason team at 90%
January 23, 200818 yr Is Mrs. Lofton always so calm? My mom would literally have been the same way....so cool under pressure, if you know me, it is obvious I take after my father.
January 23, 200818 yr They set up the out of bounds pass across the baseline several times, and while it made inbounding the ball tough a few times early, it paid off late. That one jumped out at me going over my notes...
January 23, 200818 yr This was one heck of an effort by the Cats. They showed a lot of grit. Great job by Bradley. As GT mentioned, RB shut the door on Lofton the 2nd half. It was great to see the smile on the face of the players at the final horn!!!!!!!! Congrats to Chris Lofton on his record setting night. Lofton is a class act!!
January 23, 200818 yr Nice Win the Cats should go to 9-9 after the weekend. I predicted a UK win by 2. BCG actually clapped for the guys tonight. He showed a little bit of emotion. Dykes said it best the Kentucky was still Kentucky and they will get some jersey wins because of who they are. It is a shame that this team has given BAD LOSSES away, because the TN, and Vandy win with San Diego, Houston, Gardener-Webb and UAB fans in Lexington would be talking about the Dance. All the credit to the PLAYERS for not packing it in and playing for something when it seemed like everyone was packing it in.
January 23, 200818 yr I think Ramel did an awesome job on Lofton, but I have to say that I was amazed at how "statuesque" he seemed at times. Everyone on here knows how much of a Redick homer I am. But it can not be argued that he had a motor that didn't quit, EVER....Lofton seemed to exert himself in spurts.
