January 23, 200818 yr Biggest play of game???? Might have been done by the ref. On a missed Tennessee free throw the ball squeaked out to Bradley bouncing off his chest and flying right into I think Tyler Smith's arms. Pat Patterson was there reaching pretty badly in on Smith and the ref down on the baseline called the foul, pointed directly at PP, and then immediately spun looking for someone else to call the foul on. Might have been the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Patterson avoids fifth and final foul is moral of story.

January 23, 200818 yr I noticed this too Stevenson picked up his 4th instead if PP's 5th! I can't remember how much time was left, it was only between 2-3mins but I was only about six or seven rows up and directly in line with where the ref was standing and he initially went to point at PP before turning and just deciding on Stevenson. Was pretty wild.

Great job by all tonight. For this team to beat a #3 ranked team in the nation and the SEC leader just may be the push they need. This game was one that I was looking for. Yes I am excited . Stevenson played absolutley great, as for Bradley -- he is one guy that I can come out of my chair and curse one minute for some of his idiot decisions/non decisions on the floor while handling the ball. Then in the next breath come out of my chair praising him. Bradley's lock down "D" on Lofton was great and went a looooooong way to getting this win. Patrick Pattterson is going to be so good it is scary. Only a freshman and look at what is to come in the future from him. That kid (Patterson) works hard everytime down the floor to get into position for the ball to come to him. He is a warrior! Again, needless to say an absolute great game by all tonight and we got to see Billy Gillispie outcoach the Tanning Bed guy from Rotten Flop :thumb:. Pearl can always go back to his other job............waving/flagging traffic around the constucton sites on I75, he even wore his Highway worker Uniform (Orange coat) to the game tonight. I listed/popsted the stat sheet above bc I knew that I would get someting wrong or leave someone out, great job by all! Back to reality, we are stil 8-9 but hopefully this win will be the start of a good run! GO BIG BLUE!!! and the Wildcat Nation!!!! Wow, 9 blocks??? I know there were a lot but 9 is pretty sweet. Cats swarmed the basket often. The rebound numbers are good also.
January 23, 200818 yr IF it stays BCG I'll jump ship!!!:bunny: :walk:Walking you to the door because he is here to stay, like it or not...
January 23, 200818 yr Congrats to BCG and the guys.... this is excellent progress. Doubt we make the tourney, but the future is bright.
January 23, 200818 yr Yep BCG is starting to win some of his big time games and JT keeps losing his. I know that this may not seem right but I can say that besides the fact that you cannot compare football and basketball coaches I will say this. Since that has been brought up, IMO Billy Gillispie should not even be mentioned in the same league as Tressel. I believe that all one has to do is look at te records of the two and their "entire" record in big games. Tressel - 5 national Championsips I believe, Gillispie - 0. I am not sure on conference championships right now - would have to look it up but I would say that Tressel has an overall edge there as well. Both are good coaches and this really makes no sense to compare the two. JMO Now, I am still pumped on this win and was good to see the Cats finish one out. This game will go a long way in bulding this teams confidence. We (U.K.) have not been very good but when you look at it in conference, we have beaten two of the top teams in the SEC tis season....Vandy and Tenn..:thumb: his U..K team has really been improving and continue to work hard. Tonight it paid off with a Huge "W".
January 23, 200818 yr Bradley and Crawford are the keys to this team! However I believe that Meeks is the best player! I agree.
January 23, 200818 yr I predict Kentucky to pull off the upset. Kentucky 77 Tennessee 74 I was fairly close. I felt like UK would pull it out tonight.
January 23, 200818 yr all UK from here on out, the Cats will now win the SEC. Loved seeing Loften shut down in the 2nd half, that was just sweet.
January 23, 200818 yr I a little worried about next year, because our two seniors are actually playing good and now we will be losing them next year. We will have to rely on two freshman to pick up where they left off, which may not be a good thing. As we seen this year we don't have much offense besides Crawford and Bradley. So those guys are going to HAVE to come in and do really well next year for us to do good. However it is really good to see this team starting to really understand it now, and hopefully somehow we can pull something together to make a run at the tournament still. It would actually make it the most exciting Selection Sunday in my life if we even get the chance to maybe make it, because I never have remembered watching it where they haven't made it. Jasper and Meeks still aren't at 100% and they will take much of that scoring load.
January 23, 200818 yr I was fortunate enough to be in attendance and all I can say is, WOW! Great atmosphere at Rupp tonight, everyone was in it the whole team, and really gave the team what they needed. The biggest things I came away with were: 1. Patrick Patterson is flat out amazing 2. How about those free throws! 24/28 for the game including 16/17 in the second half! a. On a side note, UK's top 4 minute per game guys (Bradley, Crawford, Meeks and Patterson) shoot 87, 83, 82 and 77% from the line 3. This team plays with unbelievable grit and toughness, IMO much the way UK's football team has played the last 2 seasons.

Ah yes, Corrupt Arena at its finest ... Seriously though, much credit to Bradley for being the guy all UK fans wanted him to be, vocally, the last few years. And I am more impressed by Patterson with every game. I still give my buddy hell all the time. He went to see Patterson last year against Scott Co. both times, and left less than impressed by Patterson, and figured he'd suck at UK.
January 23, 200818 yr My take... Announced attendance was 23,500+, but there were a hundred or so empty seats in the corner, where the students are. If you want season tix, get your name in the hopper, I have a feeling a few hundred more will be added to the season tickets allotment. Quite a few UT fans there...wonder how many were a part of the Lofton brigade. I have a for a while now called Bruce Pearl a "one-trick pony". A little harsh, yes. My whole contention with him is that the do not play good enough halfcourt defense to continually get needed stops especially against teams that have a strong lowpost presence and the ability to play smart and under control. I give him a boatload of credit for changing the culture of UT basketball and it is an attractive style, but you better be able to defend in the halfcourt. people may contend that UK won in 2006 with a similar full court trapping style, but that UK team was excellent in the halfcourt as well on defense. Tonight, they played behind Patterson, and in my opinion, UK did one of their poorest jobs feeding him the ball. He was open numerous times, and didn't get it. How do you not double him? What about UT in the halfcourt...nary but one time do I remember them throwing to a post up in the second half. I believe UT only had 3 FG the last 14 minutes...that is strong. UK only turned it over 5 times in the second half...huge. Perry Stevenson getting better and playing with confidence. Great effort defensively by Bradley on denying Lofton the ball. Meeks will be OK...maybe the best shooter, but our of condition...once he gets his legs, those shots will fall. Can UK make a run? The schedule lines up favorably. Still way to early, but at least they now have a pulse.
