I totally agree with you on Sandlin. He wants to be the center of attention. I do believe you are correct about him leaving the 9th Region. Knollman and Watkins are somewhat similar to Sandlin regarding "Rabbit Ears" and they are very unapproachable with table personnel. I do disagree with you on Kellam. I've seen games where he's baited and seems to have a major influence late in the game. Coldiron is by far the best ref in the 8th.

 

I agree with you about Sandlin, Watkins, and Knollman. It seems as if every game I attend with Knollman officiating, the game stops because of some fan in the stands. Knollman is a good official, but fans are going to criticize about the call made no matter what. I do not see a reason to get a fan out of the gym if it is not something serious. I do realize some fans do get out of hand and need to be escorted out, but some fans are just cheering for their team. Like I said before, the officials are trained very well and overall do a good job for all Regions.

I really like John Chamberlin in the 10th. I spoke with him last night. Many know him and know he is out this year do to medical reasons. Best wishes John and get well soon.

 

I second that on both accounts.

I remember him in the late 80's, very professional and takes it very seriously. I saw where Charlie Chappie got inducted into the NKY sports HOF.

I also like Karen Cooper and Cornbread out of the 8th Region.

 

:lol:Cornbread??? You have got to be kidding, right? The only good thing I ever saw Cornbread do was T up that little loudmouthed coach that was down at Gallatin Cty many years ago.

I agree that Marla Gearhart is a good official. Is Linda Strong still reffing?

 

No--Linda went into the military. She left about a week or two ago.

I forgot about Marla Gearheart as well. She is an excellent official, wasn't too bad of a player either might i add. Just to talk basketball with the woman is truely amazing, may be the most basketball intellegent offical in the region.

We can't forget Lonnie Brumfield in the 16th. Very Consistent.

Paul Lewis does a good job Bobby Hall is alright from that games I have seen him do Chris Allen is alright Marla Gearheart is right up there with them....

Jason Reineke is a good young offical in the 9th. I also like Tim Reed. You have to throw Charlie Chapie in there. Jenny Mertle has to be one of the worst. Dan Shields does to much to draw attention to himself in my opinion.

 

I agree with most all of this except the about Reed. He is shaky. I really agree that Jason Reineke is probably the best young official in the 9th.

10TH REGION. I GOTTA GO WITH BRIAN WALLINGFORD,,. Super nice guy on and off the court, that means alot,, alot of the Refs think they are College material and some that are college material are not I have seen them in action for 25 years
