I think if you ask anybody at Trinity they'd tell you Wes Weitlauf was the best player they had on the defensive side of the ball. I think Wes should have made the team over Heuser and Whiting, didn't get to see the kid from Owensboro that made it at LB. At the least, he should been selected as an Athlete.

I totally agree about Weitlauf except for Heuser. Better football player than Whiting.

Looks like a very good team. Best "team" that I have seen so far as far as 1st teamers go. I would have like to see Shane Israel on that list though as atleast an athlete.

A lot of hard work does go into this...A big thank you to the people that got this thing together!!!!

A special congrats to the young men who did not make the list....just because you did not make the list does not mean that you are not GREAT!!! Everyone, at all the schools who played football, are special and deserve to pat themselves on the back!!!!

From what I saw at the championship games, the running back from Louisville Central should be on the list somewhere, maybe as an ATH. I think his name is Darrell Taylor? I'm not sure about his last name.

Congrats to Luke Stein, Clay Cecil and everyone else selected for the team.

And I want to echo the comments made by several posters in re congrats also to all the other kids who put on the pads this year and provided a lot of fun and enjoyment to lots of fans. Well done boys, well done.

The suggestion that russelldad made was most excellent --- separate teams for large and small schools.

 

Don't like the athlete designation, however; it sounds like a stand-in for either honorable mention or "we think this guy got robbed but he's not as good as the other guy" and too often it comes off as either a copout or face-saving. That's why there are such concepts as "second team" and "honorable mention."

 

You don't understand what our ATH team is then. It is more of an honor in a lot of ways than making the offense or defense team. If you look back over the past BGP teams, you will see it is no 2nd team catch all.

But, I do like the ATH list part of it the way they do it. It's unique.

Sometimes it is best to say nothing at all.

Did Rob Madon from Corbin get any consideration as an athlete? He is a good example of the type player who should get that honor.
