I was wondering why Farris from Boone County was on the Athlete team? In watching Boone play a few times this year, I don't remember seeing him play much on defense or special teams. Not a gripe, just an observation.

This team is great for the young men. It gives credit where it is due for hard work in the off season and during the season. One thing I would like to see is an honorable mention team for young men that received x number of votes, but not enough to make the first team. Dividing into classes would certainly be a lofty task, but doing the honorable mention doesn't "seem" like it would take too much additional work.

Number of votes doesn't mean anything.

 

What means something is nominations by your head coach, nominations by another coach (this one is really good) and detailed nominations from someone close to the player.

So what you're saying is, WYMT has an all-star team that's not made up of the state's best players? Four sounds about right given that just about everyone on here has said eastern Kentucky's overall talent was down this year.

From what I saw at the championship games, the running back from Louisville Central should be on the list somewhere, maybe as an ATH. I think his name is Darrell Taylor? I'm not sure about his last name.

 

 

That kid can play the game, but like any all-star squad someone is gonna get left out.

 

IMO, and it doesn't mean much, of all the kids I've seen play whether it be on folm or in person the BGP team has had the most complete list of collective talent from top to bottomof any team, bar none.

 

By far and wide its the team I give the most prestige to, right or wrong, and I think the people involved in the selection are the most unbiased and non-partisan of any selection committee the Bluegrass area has to offer.
