Thoughts?

First....To whomever compiled and derived at the list of names, thank you for your endless hours of dedication and evaluations.

 

Second....How many HS Football programs, are there in the State of Kentucky, can anyone provide us an approximate number.

 

Third....Anytime, you have "All-Star, Best, MVP" and so on, some will be considered and left off, just due to numbers alone. Can every fan, coach and evaluator, see players from West to East and North to South, not possible. Many may be deserving, on small teams and get overlooked, while others may be overlooked, because they are on a team, with numerous standouts....works both ways.

 

Finally....All BGP Team, is just that a "team" and not broken into Classes. An attempt to make it per Class, would be a tremendous amount of research, time and long hours, for many and still, it would be subjective.

 

My compliments to this group of Players and all '07 participants, who make KY High School Football, great to watch.

Thanks very much and out of 223 teams, there is certainly many who could be considered but only a limited number of spots available.

 

Selecting this team, is a daunting task and my appreciation, to those which did.

I would have looked at Josh Gahm for OL and Weitlauf at LB.

 

I would take Dutton and Brown (Lone Oak) over 2 of the wide receivers listed.

 

Thoughts on Brandon Newman being left out?

All I can say is you may not appreciate how much work goes into the All BGP Team. If we expanded the team the task would be overwhelming.

 

So how is that our problem?:creepy: I think you should go all the way to 23rd team.:lol:

Never did like MVP's or All Star Team's due to someone is always left off and after it is all said and done someone will come back and say yeah sure did misss that one. Again my opinion only. JD

Thoughts on Brandon Newman being left out?

 

I think he would be the first to tell you he didn't deserve to be on the team based on his play this year. Doesn't mean he's not going to be a good player in college, but even he recognizes that he was "horrible" this year. It sounds like he's having a heck of a time at the AA practices this week though!

I agree, you can never cover all the bases, and this was an exceptional year for Kentucky HS Football quality. My only thoughts, and I like the idea of including extra linemen as well, would be leaving off Benzick at OT (Rivals 3 star and great season) and Brandon Newman (4 star). Granted their teams did not make it to championship games, but they had good seasons. Hindsight is always 20/20 and everyone's opinion is just that, their opinion. Congrats to all the kids who made the list and thanks to BGP for the hard work and the opportunity to present our views as well.

I heard Benzick quit the team before Fern Creek's final game.
