50 points! That I will have to see! Yes you have speed,does no good without the ball. I don't think that FHS has played a defense as solid as Beechwood all year. Just took a look at your results from the year,dont see where you get 50. Bracken County you stomped, as did every one. But 50 points against the Tigers, that wil be worth the trip down!

I read the blog about Beechwood shutting these star players down, but again I didn't see any mention of the Penix kid from Danville in there.

 

 

Are you saying Frankfort has a transfer kid playing from Danville or what? I don't know any names but only #'s, 23, 22 can fly, #9 not bad along w/Fields. They have some speed!

No. The blog spoke of all these stars they've shut down, Penix played for Danville in one of the state championship games against Beechwood.

I have not seen teams outside NKy play however, if you in Frankfort don't think the teams in NKy have no speed you got to be kidding me. I have seen about every NKy team play and eveyone has some speed. And if you think Beechwood has no speed you are in for a rude awakening. As for the crowd's at Beechwood I thought they have been fairly good and this should be a standing room only crowd on Friday. I think both team's are getting somewhat of no respect and to make it this far you have to have something. I wish both teams the best of luck however, my heart and soul will be banking on Beechwood to come out the winner. GO TIGER'S! :ylsuper:

This will truly be a battle of speed vs. power. Frankfort's speed and Beechwoods power especially in the line play. Although I must admit I was surprised how easily Frankfort handled our line for most of the game. Morgan is a stud at running back and he hurt us more than Fields did. Would have been nice to see Fields throw some, but when you get 7-8 yards on first down you don't really need to. However I feel like Frankfort will need to throw to beat Beechwood as their defense is far and away better than what Mayfield showed last Friday night. Make no mistake...Frankfort has the speed to get the corner but where they are IMO most dangerous is on the cut-backs. They let teams over-pursue and then cut it back against the grain and open fields ahead of them.

 

Beechwood you will have to be able to run against the Panthers...line up and take it right at them because they have too much speed to get to the outside...keep it between the tackles is where you will have the most success. But do not try to pass as Frankfort has a very good secondary with great make-up speed, and at all cost...do not throw at Fields as he will make you pay for it if you do. Frankfort's speed on offense is what is publicised the most...but to me it showed up more on the defensive side of the football.

 

Special teams looks to be about even as far as kickers goes. If I were Frankfort I would work though on your punter getting the ball off faster as last week he looked really slow getting rid of the ball. Might have just been one game but that is something that we noticed as a possible weakness. You do not have many weaknesses...but that is one glaring one from last weeks game.

 

Good luck to both teams and we down here in Mayfield will be rooting for the winner of this game to move on to capture the state crown.

Wow, this thread is getting pretty heated without any actual hostilities. Hope it's an indication of the game Friday. Should be a good one.

I think Frankfort is capable of winning this game, but all Beechwood has to do is block in the trenches and run it North/South...3.5 yards per down equals a first down Beechwood! I feel that Beechwood has the "Beef" to do it. Mayfield's backs tried to dance and get outside on the Panters which was just DUMB!

 

I do think that Frankfort will score some points given a short field, but Beechwood's strength outdoes Speed in this one...although they say speed kills? :sssh: Should be a fun game to watch and field position will make the difference in this one!

With all due respect Deuce, what the heck is Franfort speed anyway? Does the laws of physics alter in the 502 area code? Lloyds record holding speedsters( 2 of them at 4.4 40s), did nothing against the Tigers, so this must mean that your 4.4s are that much faster in Franfort.

Now our guys that run 4.4, what is that in Frankfort speed? 4.9 ,5.0?
