No offense to Frankfort, but I was at last week's game and was not overly impressed with the Panthers......they are fast, but I don't see them having enough size up front to win a title. Mayfield's running backs kept stretching the running plays out, which is exactly what Frankfort wanted them to do. Not to mention, I don't think Beechwood's quarterback will be throwing pics (mayfield's quaterback threw some horrible balls) that will put them in bad field position. If you take away Mayfield's bone-head plays, I think you would have seen a score more like 21-14 Frankfort's favor. I am in no way saying the Panthers aren't any good....they are an excellent ballclub with some nice strengths. I just don't see them winning a strength contest, and if Beechwood plays smart enough they can contain the speed of Frankfort, unlike Mayfield who bit inside everytime.............but then again, who knows. Look at the way this year has gone. I mean, Lone Oak is in the final four for goodness sakes......anything can happen!!

The Tigers are better than you seem to think.

 

Tradition has been mentioned on here several times with some saying it is important and some saying it is not. The Beechwood kids have been here before and many of them have neighbors, dads, uncles, cousins, and brothers with rings. If you don't think it is uncomfortable, sitting around the dinner table over the holidays with these people when you have not won state, you know nothing about tradition and motivation. Look for the Red & White to play a little bigger, a little faster and basically a little better than they really are. (they are very good already)

Please understand that Beechwood is and will be the best team FHS has played all year. They have the total package. Size, speed, and athletes. The Tigers are bred for these types of games. Frankfort will need to play above their heads to win this week.

What should impress you about last week is FHS used 20 play and 10 1/2 minutes to eat up the clock and score their final touchdown.

 

Had they have went full throttle in the secind half more points would have been scored.

Hayden was very good but not in the same class as the RB's mentioned. Mayfield had a very good one also named Redd.

Can you give me some stats on the 2004 LCA-BHS game? 62-14 is the only one that comes to mind! Frankfort will not be able to play 4 quarters of smash mouth Beechwood football, they are a good team, however, IMO they won't be able to match up on the line of scrimage. Beechwood wins!

First I think Frankfort is a very good team who won every aspect of the game with Mayfield. I was impressed. Not with just the speed but the blocking was great.

 

With that being said. You don't have to be impressed but you will learn that we deserve respect as a great program.

 

Why so cocky after two good years since 1990?

 

Just remember Frankfort will be back like they have been and Mayfield will always be Mayfield. Since 1990 Frankfort has 75 wins and 106 loses. Mayfield has 196 wins and 45 loses.

Here's the important LCA stat: 1 Senior (a lineman that went both ways)

 

 

 

Beechwood basically thrashed a good JV team (plus 1 senior) when they beat LCA in 2004. [Even that enhanced JV team stayed with Beechwood for 1&1/2 quarters (14-14).]

 

That entire squad came back next year (minus 1 senior) and took Beechwood apart.

Frankfort beat Mayfield in every phase of the game. The if's and buts, should of's could of's would not have likely changed the outcome except in extreme situations of say a Frankfort extreme meltdown. Mayfield got off to a rocky start and things snowballed and when this happened earlier in the year this Mayfield team reacted the sameway poorly. Mayfield got down so far so fast, from a great run to picks returned for TD that they never really got to even try to execute their game plan. That type of start is not likely to happen against Beechwood. At this level the biggest problem for fans in comparing teams is that they likely have no common opponets and are far enough away that fans have not seen their opponets play and can only rely on things like this message board or articles. Frankfort's weakness seems to be with teams that an line up and run right at you, even the Frankfort head coach has made mention of this, this appears to be a strong suit of Beechwood. But it was also somthing most thought Mayfield could do but Mayfield got down by some many so fast they never really got to find out. Mayfield was also not a typical Mayfield team so be careful not to read to much into beating Mayfield. WKY football in my opinion was weak and that made Mayfield appear better than they were. Mayfield's also young in many spots and should be a future force but the youngsters tended to fold against better teams and Frankfort fits that bill. Frankfort can hurt you with their speed from several different backs and Morgan impressed me more than Fields did on offense, both are great backs an there is a sophmore who is also very good but was not at 100% against Mayfield. Beechwood should be able to better contain the speed and unless Frankfort can open things up with the pass I think this game favors Beechwood. Again I have not seen Beechwood so this is based on whatI've heard about Beechwood and what I regretable saw against Frankfort so I may be dead wrong
