Here's the important LCA stat: 1 Senior (a lineman that went both ways)

 

 

 

Beechwood basically thrashed a good JV team (plus 1 senior) when they beat LCA in 2004. [Even that enhanced JV team stayed with Beechwood for 1&1/2 quarters (14-14).]

 

That entire squad came back next year (minus 1 senior) and took Beechwood apart.

Wow, you beat a 2005 team (that wasn't a typical BHS team) that were missing 4-5 starters. It was a BHS team that already had their rings and just flat out gave up. Very unusual for us, I can remember the coaches were livid because the seniors just quit. Could you please stick with the thread topics and stop with the anti-Beechwood comments whenever you have the chance. You may PM me if you need to continue these comments pehaps this will give you the correct way to vent your frustrations. Thanks;)

It sounds like you guys are a little bitter because Frankfort beat Mayfield and the world is still turning. I never implied that Mayfield should have won that ballgame, so stop with the woulda, coulda, shoulda stuff. I said Frankfort is a great ballclub with nice strengths.....did you guys not read that part??

Don't worry FHS was not impressed with Mayfield either.

 

What should impress you about last week is FHS used 20 play and 10 1/2 minutes to eat up the clock and score their final touchdown.

 

Had they have went full throttle in the secind half more points would have been scored.

 

I never claimed Mayfield gave anybody anything to be impressed about. You are taking my comments personally and that is silly.

 

AND, had Frankfort went full throttle, they also could have made more mistakes and turnovers too. Plus, why would you even bring up that scenario?? There is a sub-state birth on the line. What team wants to risk that??

I think we are overreacting here. Simple words posted online often get emotion associated with them when none was meant to be attached.

 

All of this on both sides is just everybody eagerly anticipating a good game Friday. During the week, the joy of advancing to the next round is overcome by nervousness about the next game.

 

There's not much else useful or objective to be said here, hardly any of us have seen both teams play. I'll sign off until after Friday.

I have to agree with you Hip-Hop. NKY may have some speeders at their schools, but FHS has the best all around team speed I have seen for a while.

 

You havent seen Highlands or Cov Cath play this year then have you? Beechwood faced them both. I am by no means a Beechwood fan they are one of our district rivals (would like them to win the title though for NKY), but I have seen Beechwood play twice and I must say they are the best team in the state in 1A and should win this game and the next game by a couple of TD's.

BHS: C-6'0" 250, RG-6'5" 265, RT-6'5" 280, LG-6'6" 245, LT-6'6" 225, TE-6'1" 190, SE-6'2" 185

Backfield: QB-5'10" 175, FB-6'2" 225, RB-6'0" 215, RB-6'1" 190

2 years ago, LCA had 43 against them.

 

LCA had the ball inside the Beechwood 10 with over a minute left in the game, but coach Rains had LCA take a knee a couple of times.

 

Believe me, I was frustrated. I wanted to see 50 points put up on the board, but Rains called off the dogs.

 

 

Did anyone ever mention to you that Beechwood had no less than 6 starters out that night with injuries. "6" We practically had our entire J.V. playing that night, the whole game.

 

I have been hoping all year that we meet them at State.

 

I remember the LCA fans chanting "Over rated - Over rated" ! Lets see how they do against our Varsity.

Frankfort's speed won't do them much good if they can't get past our line. If they are not an outstanding passing team with very tall receivers, this will be their last game of the year.
