If you want good Mexican food, I would recommend Miquels. On US 60. If you are coming from I75 to I-64 then take 1st Frankfort exit. It is 1/2 mile on Right.

I have a question about directions. I have 3 different ones, and all taking about the same amount of time, but a rather large discrepency in mileage. Looking for the straightest route, but safest road. I have 75 south to 64 (94 miles) ; I-75 south to 60 (80+miles); and then I-71 to Warsaw/Sparta with 127 south (75 miles).

Suggestions?

I think we are overreacting here. Simple words posted online often get emotion associated with them when none was meant to be attached.

 

All of this on both sides is just everybody eagerly anticipating a good game Friday. During the week, the joy of advancing to the next round is overcome by nervousness about the next game.

 

There's not much else useful or objective to be said here, hardly any of us have seen both teams play. I'll sign off until after Friday.

What happened yrs ago is relevant. It started in '84 w/the first championship team and escalated in the '90's. When these kids are in elementary, they see the high school players and student body getting excited this time of yr. Remember, they are housed under one roof. Coming up thru the elementary they begin to see what it is all about, how to win and lose. They see the disappointment when the team loses and it does transpire down from the Sr's to the kindergarten kids. They all realize what is going on and get real excited. It is almost expected of the team to be in the position they are in each and every yr. They work very hard, as other teams do, to be playing in the semi's to get to the big show. Not one Beechwood player wants to be remembered as the team who did not win a state championship. Unfortunately, they have a tremendous amount of pressure put on them and they all handle it very well because as Freshman they learn how to win and they expect to win no matter who they are playing. Call it an attitude but you better have an attitude on Friday night when you line up across from an opponent who wants to knock you block off. It's not arrogance or being conceded, it's pride in yourself and calling yourself a brother to the rest of your teammates. Pride, Brotherhood and Unity forever!!

 

This will be a good game, I think, but obviously I am pulling for the Tigers.

You havent seen Highlands or Cov Cath play this year then have you? Beechwood faced them both. I am by no means a Beechwood fan they are one of our district rivals (would like them to win the title though for NKY), but I have seen Beechwood play twice and I must say they are the best team in the state in 1A and should win this game and the next game by a couple of TD's.

 

Then we must assume you've seen all the 1a teams play! I doubt you've seen any of the other 3 remaining teams, but, correct me if i'm wrong. I will say the Beechies have the best tradition of any of the remaining teams but before I would make that bold a statement, I'd make sure I had seen them all...

I really wish I could be there for this game. Frankfort is a great team and Foley is a great coach. I agree with whomever said High has been knocking on the door the last few years and that it's their turn.

127 south from Sparta is mostly two lane a little curvey, but not too bad. It depends on where you would be picking up US60 it tends to run thru the middle of small towns, so that would slow you down some. I think I would probably take the Sparta route.

It's fun to get on here and watch fans of each team talk their talk. Please understand that us folks in Frankfort fully appreciate and respect the tradition that Beechwood has. I guess our fans are trying to say that why we respect it it doesn't intimidate us. We have played Danville the last five years and while athlete wise we match up closer to them our players have gotten used to playing a marquee program. I am really looking forward to this matchup of contrasting styles. And yes we know your alls QB and no 12 can flat out fly.All you Beechies have a safe trip.
