I have seen some posts regarding the lack of seating in the stadium. Some friends who live down there have told us to bring our own chairs. I think Beechwood will have a good turnout on Friday. So.....to chair or not to chair????? Are they allowed in the stadium? Suggestions?

 

You will not need chairs. There would not be any place to really put them. The Frankfort side has ample seating. Unfortunately, they haven't been having great turn outs (don't know why...school and community should be supporting those boys!).

Well this is the Frankfort thread, but yes Paris has beet Beechwood.

The last time Paris Beat Beechwood was 1989. The Greyhounds beat them in Paris from what my older brother told me was one of the coldest games he ever played in. Paris won 7-6 in Paris. Since then Beechwood has dominated them. I know back in 04 the last time Beechwood won state they were up 53-0 at halftime. They could have scored 100 points against them if they wanted to.

 

Back to the Frankfort game. I have a friend who is a ref. He did the Galatin County game against them. He said that they have a lot of speed. But one thing about nobody is talking about is Beechwood's speed. They might not have the speed that Frankfort has but they have speed. Noel Rash wasn't the Head Coach when the Tigers won the titles when Yeagle was. But he was the DC. People who know anything about a good Beechwood team they love to play defense. I have been to a lot of Beechwood New Cath games since I played there and graduated in 95. This past one was one of the hardest hitting ones I have ever seen. I have seen where people have said the name Beechwood scares people. This Beechwood team will hit you right in the mouth. Personally I think the key of the game will be if Frankfort can stop Beechwood's offense. Frankfort does have the speed advantage but if Beechwood controls the line of scriamage then they don't have the ball. I won't be able to go to the game so if any Beechwood fan who is going can text me during the game I would appreciate that. Just pm me and I will give you my cell number.

I didn't see any mention of the Penick kid from Danville in that blog.

Give us some suggestions we're always looking for new ways to attack teams. What do you think we could do that would be more effective? The offense only scored 28 Friday, but I believe we could've put one more on the board at the end of the game, but we didn't need it.

 

I just think that earlier in the game there were a lot of times when Mico was one on one with a smaller and of'course slower CB that they could have thrown a quick hitter to him and let him make some things happen. As far as Quawn, I noticed that he was still gimpy and Morgan did a heck of a job. Just think that they could work EJ a little more with some boots . I am just saying that with the talent that FHS has, they should be able to pick the score on any given night and it should be no less than 50. Once again FHS good luck, all of Franklin County is rooting for you.

50 points! That I will have to see! Yes you have speed,does no good without the ball. I don't think that FHS has played a defense as solid as Beechwood all year. Just took a look at your results from the year,dont see where you get 50. Bracken County you stomped, as did every one. But 50 points against the Tigers, that wil be worth the trip down!

^ Unrealistic expectations. Putting up 50 on average teams is one thing. I don't know that Beechwood has ever had 50 scored on them.

2 years ago, LCA had 43 against them.

 

LCA had the ball inside the Beechwood 10 with over a minute left in the game, but coach Rains had LCA take a knee a couple of times.

 

Believe me, I was frustrated. I wanted to see 50 points put up on the board, but Rains called off the dogs.

This will truly be a battle of speed vs. power. Frankfort's speed and Beechwoods power especially in the line play. Although I must admit I was surprised how easily Frankfort handled our line for most of the game. Morgan is a stud at running back and he hurt us more than Fields did. Would have been nice to see Fields throw some, but when you get 7-8 yards on first down you don't really need to. However I feel like Frankfort will need to throw to beat Beechwood as their defense is far and away better than what Mayfield showed last Friday night. Make no mistake...Frankfort has the speed to get the corner but where they are IMO most dangerous is on the cut-backs. They let teams over-pursue and then cut it back against the grain and open fields ahead of them.

 

Beechwood you will have to be able to run against the Panthers...line up and take it right at them because they have too much speed to get to the outside...keep it between the tackles is where you will have the most success. But do not try to pass as Frankfort has a very good secondary with great make-up speed, and at all cost...do not throw at Fields as he will make you pay for it if you do. Frankfort's speed on offense is what is publicised the most...but to me it showed up more on the defensive side of the football.

 

Special teams looks to be about even as far as kickers goes. If I were Frankfort I would work though on your punter getting the ball off faster as last week he looked really slow getting rid of the ball. Might have just been one game but that is something that we noticed as a possible weakness. You do not have many weaknesses...but that is one glaring one from last weeks game.
