I always say a team's losses show a lot.

 

Beechwood lost to 5A CovCath 14-7 and mis-managed clock and time-outs at the end of the game when on the goaline. Plus it was a rare special night game at CovCath for Senior night.

 

Beechwood lost to 2A NewCath 41-28 in a game that they had to come from behind a couple of times. Trailed 17-7 and 31-14 before closing to 31-28 and then turning it over a couple of times in the last 3 minutes to lose 41-28. That game was at Beechwood and it was also their Senior night.

 

Frankfort lost 24-13 to 4A Franklin Co who finished 9-3 at Frankfort.

 

Frankfort lost to 37-13 to 6A North Hardin who finished 3-8 and that game was also at Frankfort.

 

Can anyone provide details on these games?

Frankfort turned the ball over to many times against a very good 4-A teamhe defense played inspired but the offense let them down.

 

North game was after a big win at Danville. Also the Panthers had some injuries and played uninspired football. North is a very good team.

 

Frankfort has been focused since the NH loss.

Frankfort just needs to mail Beechwood the semi-final trophy. We obviously don't have a chance. The field itself is in about the same shape as anyone elses for this time of year. I think the Mayfield people are refering to the stadium and field houses. The visitors fieldhouse was built in the 1920's and is a littlle on the small side. Frankforts' field house at one time was an old grade school. Frankfort moved from the old fieldhouse to the old Bellepoint school my junior year which was 1972. As we told the Mayfield folks the visitors bleachers are small and like tthey said unless Frankfort has a better turn out seating shouldn't be a problem.

Wells on a 2 Pt Conversion with under 3 minutes left. Defense holds. Winner of this one only gets a trophy this week but a ring the week after in the Pizza Box.

 

Wells also returns a punt for a TD. He is the silent thorn in the side to all FHS opponents.

Sounds as if the crowds should be about equal. Beechwood hasn't had a crowd since the last game of the season. The playoff crowds have been very disappointing for the kids but if you have been around Beechwood long enough, that is how it has been for several yrs now. They all wait until the finals, well, you all better not wait around this yr. Frankfort is very good and the Beechwood team deserves your support this week, so be there.

Please don't think that Beechwood feels we'll be 'slummin'. No Beechwood person has said anything of the sort. As a matter of fact, we're pretty dern happy to be coming to Frankfort-distance and time being the main reasons. We really weren't too happy to think we'd have to give up 2-3 DAYS to travel for a football game if we had to play at Mayfield. (Yes, folks, that's what it would have cost us-leave on THURSDAY afternoon, play on Friday night, drive straight thru the night to get home around 7:30 a.m.--whole Saturday shot, too) It's nothing personal against any team-simply the logistics.

Can anyone from Frankfort recommend a restaurant in town? We were planning on coming down early with a group and having dinner before hand.

Prefer something with a local flair and not a chain restaurant.

Don't recall anyone from Beechwood complaining about the field just asking what kind of condition it was in this late in the season. Some schools take very good care of their natural turf compared to others. No one is riding a horse either, must be confused w/another team. Only difference playing on grass compared to turf is the uniforms will get dirty.:dancingpa
